We've heard those Announcements for 3 Nights now.Sitting in my normal parade viewing spot (HOP cripple area), and they just had a special announcement a few minutes ago for the grand opening. Pretty nice.

We'll see if we get any tomorrow.....

Quoting myself here but I’d compare them to the blue shirts with pixie dust that debuted after the pandemic but with a purple background and white dust instead of yellow.I’m sitting on Main Street right now. There’s a lot of enthusiasm among the cast members in particular. Interestingly some of them are wearing special shirts that seem inspired by the parade. Like they don’t have the logo or any floats or anything but they definitely have a stardust design.
Tonight: Grand OpeningI thought it was just a tonight thing!
A week from now, I presume there will be a special announcement as I’ll be there.Tonight: Grand Opening
Last 2 Nights: Preview Performance
So many of us here! How fun!!!I can’t believe it’s been Almost 10 years since I saw the electrical parade. I’m getting nostalgic just sitting here and waiting LOL.
Because even if this parade isn’t perfect, most people are super excited to have a light parade back after so long. I’m sad that my kids don’t even remember seeing a light parade (MSEP closed when they were 3) while I was raised on SpectroMagic. I was literally bawling my eyes out listening to the opening of Starlight and they thought I’d lost it.I've seen a lot of people wearing the shirts. More than I've seen wearing parade/show specific merch in the past.
Would you rather have THIS?That's the problem with face characters. They very rarely look like their cartoon counterparts.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention when we had Spectro/MSEP last here but I don't recall this level of merchandise attainment. Same for Epcot's shows...Because even if this parade isn’t perfect, most people are super excited to have a light parade back after so long. non animal mascots tend to run the risk of looking creepy. That's the problem with face characters. They very rarely look like their cartoon counterparts.
Yes, there is considerable excitement around this. Hopefully, this communicates clearly to the bean counters that this parade is something we want and which should be cared for and updated like any other classic MK attraction.Maybe I wasn't paying attention when we had Spectro/MSEP last here but I don't recall this level of merchandise attainment. I was referring to Orlando. There have been a few pins for parades and Epcot lagoon shows (RoE included), but that's about it that I remember.50th anniversary of Main Street electrical at Disneyland.
Other than the farewell merch and the soundtrack cd I don’t remember and illuminations merch.
Disney actually created pins and buttons during Spectromagic's inaugural year in 1991 (the same year WDW celebrated its 20th Anniversary).I was referring to Orlando. There have been a few pins for parades and Epcot lagoon shows (RoE included), but that's about it that I remember
