A mechanical permit for COP has been filed. With simens, who makes motors upon looking it up. So regardless of the rumors validity, COP is getting some work done. Good!

Mechanical in the context of buildings generally refers to HVAC systems and the addresses is associated Siemens’ mechanical (HVAC) business.A mechanical permit for COP has been filed. I don't, heard the HVAC systems were built underneath the foundation of Space Mountain for some reason. The last one broke and they have to decide between sweaty seats or destroying two attractions to change the fan motor.I feel less worried nowsounds like just AC work

Most definitely. They won’t close CoP permanently. Updates? Sure.
Imagine Walt Disney introducing the show, a new finale, and updated AAs throughout.
It wouldn’t be biding its time anymore.
The older stuff at Disneyland like Small World and CoP are the only things safe IMO.The historical significance angle didn’t save MV3D.
Nothing’s safe, ultimately. Other than the castles.
In all fairness, the Carousel of Progress, or its' current iteration should have been put out of its' misery years ago. Whenever I see news about this show, it's always negative. The figures and show scenes are in desperate need of overall. Excluding the turning mechanism for the theatre, the animatronics are always falling apart. Unusually more for Disney's other Audio-Animatronic shows both past and present. The Final Act is terribly dated. John doesn't even look the same in the past three acts. The children have aged, but the grandparents haven't. The staging from the Sixties looked better. The writing is stale and feels forced. Instead, Disney is more focused on seating and references to Food Rockz.
To me, Carousel of Progress was always the weakest of the carousel shows. America Sings was entertaining and visually appealing. Meet The World was a technical marvel and informative.(Again, it's a shame it never found a home at Epcot.) Carousel of Progress was just a twenty minute ad for GE appliances. I like the version that Walt created. Granted, he made Sarah insufferable in the Final Act. The 1975 and 1993 versions of the show are just awful. Disney just needs to put this show out of its' misery because I don't think they're capable of giving it the overhaul it deserves.
When was the last time you saw it?The figures and show scenes are in desperate need of overall.
I enjoy it as well, and I’m also in support of the main item currently needed is seat refurb. Which they have strangely done in some theater(s) but not all.The current version, even with its issues, is my favorite attraction at the Magic Kingdom and has been since I was a kid.
