I would’ve loved that too. I mean Johnny Depp announcing the opening date for Beak & Barrel at Magic Kingdom and hopefully a new Pirates movie would be a perfect fit at the ceremony.

Here’s my latest predictions for the Disney Parks during this year’s Destination D23 next month

As someone attending Destination D23 I hope you are right.

We just did our latest podcast episode reviewing another person's predictions and had a similar response - hope they are correct but expect less than these predictions.

Don't think anyway we get an announcement for Animation Courtyard for example, that is a ways off and still in early stages for current project at DHS.

Also, be surprised if we get a lot of exact opening dates - I could see some more time-frames but be surprised if more than what month it will open - exact dates are more often in news out of Disney Parks Blog either before or after the event.

They are hyping this one up so maybe will get more than typical, but I am going in with relatively low expectations and will be happy to be wrong lol

The relationship between Johnny and Disney is still, at best, very shaky. Bruckheimer is still attempting to play moderator/peacemaker between the two.

Jack Sparrow could very well make an appearance at Destination D23 to promote the lounge, but it won’t be Johnny. You can put that in stone.

I too would reiterate past precedence would warrant caution. I don’t think Destination has really ever discussed anything new beyond Florida for starters.

It would require this one to be different… which it could be.

Now that said, I think we get one thing worth talking about out of it. Irrationally, I think it is Imagination.

I am of the same mind - if one new things gets announced, redoing Imagination would be my first pick as it isn't as big as a new land or anything and the crowd at DD23 will react very positively (maybe a good one to cover after you go over Piston Peak and/or Monstropolis)

I think we get an update on Big Thunder and a reopening date. The progress seems to be moving at a pace where it could be open for the holiday season if they wanted.

Could see that - or at least a timeframe/opening Month

And also showing / discussing some of the upgrades and the dynamite effect

My one hope is that we get an opening date for Disney Adventure World, and not just another video of Frozen construction.
In general I'm only expecting update announcements on already existing projects, unless a small-scale project gets announced on the same scale of Test Track update or Pirates Lounge
