MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

You took some really nice pictures. If only the area had this same type of enthusiasm we're seeing today for all the many years it was open, rather than the "It's Closing so it's popular again!" last minute trending hype, maybe it could have stuck around for years longer.

Either way, bring on the next chapter.
Popularity as far as ridership goes shouldn't be the metric used to keep an attraction like this open.
I love this, but never rode it.

Boo! to the next chapter...they could add a Villains Land without having to completely replace the river...and Cars should be in another park....maybe one that has another Pixar themed land already and needs more development....Yeah, I know, it is happening whether I like it or not....

Loosing things like RoA just makes WDW an upscale Six Flags
If Magic Kingdom couldn’t be considered better than Six Flags without the river, then it was never better. If the removal of one single element knocks it down that level, then that is damning indictment of the whole park.

Which is to say MK has a long way to go before it falls to that level.

I wouldn’t go that far. It’s basically becoming another IOA or USF.

If they follow what we saw in the concept art, walking around Liberty Square/Frontierland will have a beautified view of natural wonder and waterfront compared to the current swamp and trees.

And if you don't like the Cars integration, just stick to the perimeter of frontierland and pretend the attraction in the middle doesn't exist like the vast majority of people do now 🤷‍♂️

Acting like this is the decision that downgrades the Magic Kingdom to a Six Flags or Mish Mash of the Universal parks is a little dramatic.

Today I took quite a few photos of the RoA. Such a beautiful area. One thing most people don’t realize is just how many show scenes it has. It had me running from one side of the ship to the other like a basketball player to take photos of everything! View attachment 864925View attachment 864927
The river marker by the Haunted Mansion is called “Howling Dog Bend.”

I don’t give a rats bloated behind what anybody thinks, getting rid of ROA/TSI still pi$$es me off.
Myself, my wife, our three kids, SonIL and or two young granddaughters took trips to WDW in Oct. of ‘23 and June/July of ‘24.
We all rode the Liberty Belle in ‘23 and all took the raft to TSI in ‘24. Our granddaughters loved both.
We’ve done one or the other, or both, on every trip. What a shame.
Nothin’ says old west frontier like modern off-road racing. Good grief.

So, are you going to stop going then?

There is a good chance you might like it and be able to make further memories.

Just like Muppets - there is no chance that I will personally be able to experience and enjoy the new attractions with my mom - she won’t want to ride a muppets coaster, door coaster, or cars ride.

One of the big wins of the Avatar land is it looks great AND provides a great attraction that is accessible to almost all guests.

If the monsters inc. show happens and is good - there would at least be that.

No on both counts, unfortunately. What I’m hearing and what seems most likely is that she will be used for spare parts to support the other steamboats TWDC operates (TDR, DLR, DLP kind of). She does have a new boiler after all.

Wow, thanks for these!

The environment and atmosphere go a long way toward fleshing out this area of the park, easily transporting Guests to another time and place.

I don’t think it’s fully understood what will be lost.

In my opinion this change is Disney's need to IPee all over everything they can, and also about selling LLs

Probably. There is ZERO heart behind this.

I had started to soften my stance on this until I perused the other boards and reminded myself of the last few years of Disney decisions, namely what they did to Splash Mountain and Epcot.

This isn’t going to end well and it will further lower the standard.
