MK Prairie Outpost in Frontierland to reopen soon as a hat shop

This was a confectionary shop pre pandemic and never reopened. Interesting thing is there used to be a hat shop way way back on the side of the diamond horseshoe, however prairie outpost is larger. Seems like it might be a third party shop, but anything that adds more interest/something to do is better than a closed shop.

ETA I hope they paint the wall before it opens.View attachment 864311
I cannot believe that was allowed to be used on the official website. I saw that last night. Awful!

Reopening an old shop that was just sitting there unused is a dumb idea? Especially when the hat shop that used to be in FL isn’t there anymore so it’s re-introducing an old shop concept from the land just in a bigger and nicer space? Would you have preferred they just left the space vacant?

Reopening abandoned retail space in MK is a good thing, especially if it's for more than just Pooh plush and pins.

Welp, so much for a dedicated spot for new Country Bear merch. That location would’ve been perfect for it. I guess we could still get some at the Trading Post, but I doubt it’d get as much post-show-high guest flow than the shop right next to the exit of the show. Still a good idea to open up unused space, but idk how many fedoras they’re gonna sell in Central Florida. I wouldn’t want to wear a heavy hat in that heat!

A heavy hat probably not, but there are plenty of people who do not realize how strong the Florida sun is and forget to pack a hat.

Will this be a replacement for “La Chapeau”? Visiting the talented seamstresses who would embroider a little one’s first set of ears was a very special part of a kid’s first trip.

They are probably gearing this towards tourists who buy on site then take it home to wear. A lot like the winter clothing in the Norway pavilion, they all buy it here to take home up north.

A store that just sells hats I don't see it lasting long --now if the style was like back in the 40s when everyone wore a hat maybe it might be a money make but who wears hats other than ball cape these days
Have you ever by chance met someone who

1) Goes to church?
2) Lives in the south?
3) or Both?

If the answer to any of the above is yes then you would see who wears non ball caps pretty regularly

I live in the south (SC) go to church and rarely if ever see anyone wearing a hat other the than a baseball cap or a hat fishing. Where in the south are you talking about

In some denominations (UCC I know for sure), it's usually disrespectful unless it's service related. Certainly attended church in the south for a number of years myself, and never seen this!

Chapel hats has two locations at Disney Springs and has done very well for years. I would think that has factored into it.
