Question of the Day
As we creep closer to the game start (two weeks from today!) I’m finalizing the roster of prompts. As I make cuts I wonder:

What is your favorite prompt from any imagineering game you’ve participated in or observed?
These kinds of questions are always tough because so many times my favorite rounds don't come from the prompts I feel the most excited about. They start from one's that initially sound boring but the team just fires on all cylinders and knocks it out of the park and we have a fun time!

Design a themed bathroom (just a restroom who cares), Design an Epic Universe Portal to replace Potter (just a single IP land nothing crazy special), Nick/Cartoon Network crossover land, mini-Disney park in Vegas, etc. These prompts didn't seem special to me, but then wound up being some of my favorite rounds!

If you are a Star Wars fan, who is your favorite Star Wars character. If you are not a Star Wars fan, who is your favorite character from your franchise of choice?

But honestly Yelena is way up there now. 💕

I have nowhere else to post this because Facebook sucks, but I want to talk about this.

Brian Wilson died today. It’s something I’d been preparing for, and honestly expecting, for over a decade so it didn’t hit me hard, but it’s the biggest celebrity death for me since David Bowie in 2016.

Brian Wilson is and always will be my chief inspiration as a musician and a (sort of lol) songwriter. He’s literally the reason why I sound the way I do - SMiLE and Pet Sounds directly lead to me developing my higher register voice, he’s who I always go back to when I think of instrumentation and the “sound” I try poorly to capture, and he’s who I think of when I think of the quintessential American songwriter. He was a one-of-a-kind voice and someone who was central to my development as an artist and a musician.

Most people are sharing “God Only Knows,” and rightfully so, but I wanted to share a different song; a slightly later song that really conveys his struggles. I found this like a year ago and it hit me like a truck. It’s also the first song I listened to when I heard that he died. Love and mercy.

Question of the Day

Influenced by Jokers post and also having just passed the anniversary of the loss of a personal hero of mine in Anthony Bourdain, I’ve got my question for today:

Who is a hero of yours?

It could be someone who has influenced your passions, someone who has influenced the way you live, or just someone you look up to. It doesn’t have to be a famous person, it could be a parent, a teacher, or someone notable.

For me, I’ve got two: Anthony Bourdain whom I just mentioned has spurred my love of exploring different cultures. While I’m nowhere near as well travelled as him, I’ve always had a passion for talking to people and learning about life all around the world, and his connection to food, championing of the working class, and willingness to tell it how it is makes him someone I’ve looked up to since I first discovered Parts Unknown channel flipping as a kid.

And

Sir David Attenborough is another huge influence of mine. While sure Steve Irwin, the Kratt Brothers, Jane Goodall, etc. are all people I look up to in my field, Sir David has been doing it for so long and has always been a champion of environmental activism and the beauty and wonder of nature. He’s someone would love to meet because even at 99 years old he’s still doing amazing work.

I would say the one and only Walt Disney is a huge inspiration to me.

Besides my mom, the closest thing I have to this is Paris Hilton. Idk, everyone else I “look up to” in any sort of way is a fictional character. I probably need help.

What’s the last theme park ride you’ve gone on?

For me, it was Ratatouille at EPCOT. It didn’t have much of a line last thing on my last day there!
Flight of Passage. I wanted to leave AK and get to Epcot for one more guardians ride but it was our last day, we had to be up early, and everyone was hungry so we ended up at Earl of Sandwich instead, but hey, damn good sandwich

I was going to say Space Mountain at DL last summer then forgot we went to WDW at Thanksgiving. Runaway Railway for me while I bemoaned for the umpteenth time losing GMR. Lol

Going to Carowinds in two weeks so that'll change!
