Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

So, I was watchin’ a news program this mornin’.
The last segment they had was about boats/watercraft. They had 3 on display…
A 25’ sports boat, a 25’ fishing boat and a Sea-Doo.
The lady doing the walk around with the hosts said that the sports boat was 80K and could be had for $500/month payments. Assuming the 80K includes tax and the $500 payment includes interest (I don’t know, because it was never mentioned, one way or the other), that’s about 13 years and 4 months of boat payments…WTH…?!?!?!
And, of course, that’s doesn’t include things like insurance, gas, general maintenance, storage, etc.
No HOA is gonna’ let ya’ store somethin’ that big out in the open, even if ya’ could get it in your backyard.
And yes, I know…
The happiest day is when ya’ buy your boat, and the next happiest day is when ya’ sell it…!!! ;)

Some pics from Pop’s side of the family family reunion yesterday, held at the VFW Hall in his hometown. The town is slightly southwest of us, about 2 hrs. away. Population 1,968…!!! :)

Chicken and sausage on the smokers…

A pile of cut up smoked sausage…

IMG_7553.jpeg

The contraption below is where the wood is burned on the rack, and after the red-hot coals drop to the ground below, they’re shoveled into the smokers…

IMG_7557.jpeg

And, relatives in the smoker shed…

Pics from inside the hall, and the family farm to come…

Some pics from inside the VFW Hall…!!! :)

The food table, and my plate of smoked sausage, smoked chicken, Spanish rice, corn casserole, potato salad, baby dill pickles and pasta salad…!!!!! :hungry:

IMG_7563.jpegIMG_7574.jpeg

I got to the dessert table a little late, but, there was still plenty of carrot cake left (middle right on the table - forgot to get a pic of my piece), which I love…!!!!! :hungry:

IMG_7584.jpeg

And, some general pics…!!! :)

Pics from the family farm…!!! :)

Our oil well from the main road…!!! 🤠;)

IMG_4704.jpeg

What’s left of the old farmhouse, and our old camper that one of my cousins used for a while…

IMG_7598.jpeg

What’s left of the old tractor garage (on the right), and the old car garage (on the left) They only had one car and one tractor…

IMG_7608.jpeg

What’s left of the old smokehouse (on the left), and the old washhouse (behind the tree)…

IMG_7605.jpeg

I didn’t walk back to see the old barn (behind the smokehouse and washhouse), but I’ve been told it’s flattened.

Some shots of the field in front of the old farmhouse…

IMG_7602.jpegIMG_7603.jpegIMG_7604.jpeg

Then, we took a ride from the farmhouse, through the pasture (we used to run about 40 head of cattle on the farm, but during the last major drought they were all sold, as it got too expensive to keep having water trucked in for them) and the back forty, to the end of the property…a lot of prickly pear and mesquite goin’ on…

IMG_7624.jpegIMG_7616.jpeg

On a side note…
The old dirt path/road through the back forty had been in bad shape for years. The solution was found by gettin’ a neighbor with some heavy equipment to clear a new access, in exchange for allowing him to set up deer blinds and hunt on the property…it’s the country way…!!! ;)

And, Megan, Emmy and Audrey enjoying the ride through the back forty (the whole property is 200 acres) in the back of their SUV…!!! :)

It was a GREAT day…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

I get the intent, but the execution is very triggering.

No, not one bit of triggering here…!!!!! :hilarious:
It makes it easier for everyone to grab quicker, and I guarantee you any leftovers were put in a large Ziplock bag(s)…!!! ;):)

Spenser, Daisy, and I went out for a drive in my new car. We went to the historic downtown area and checked out the mill. Pics and a plaque (for @MinnieM123).

Those are some great photos. It's a whole different world up there. By the way, excellent plaque! Thank you. :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I got a new car. No more Altimas, so 17 years of driving Altimas has officially come to an end.

I was going to buy out my lease, but there were a whole host of things that had gone wrong on it - most notably the a/c had DIED! Cheaper and easier to just start a new lease.

Nissan Kicks…nice…!!! :)

ETA…
I prefer an SUV to a standard coupe or sedan, but right now I’m still drivin’ Carolyn’s old 2010 Toyota Camry sedan…!!!!! :hilarious:
I must admit though, the thing’s still in pretty good shape, and has been pretty darn bulletproof over the years…so far…!!! ;)
Carolyn’s drivin’ a 2017 Ford Escape, with less than 70K miles on it, and it’s still in great shape.
Plus, it’s a burnt orange color like her beloved University of Texas Longhorns…!!!!! :hilarious:
We paid the Camry off over a decade ago, and we paid cash for the Escape…although a used vehicle, that’s the first time we’ve ever been able to do that…!!! :)

It looks really pretty!! I love those little streams with a few rocks along the bank. It always looks so serene and reminds me of home. I know a lot of people love the beach, but I hate sand. Give me a mountain stream/lake and some pine trees any day.

I am exhausted. I spent about 5 hours doing yardwork today. I'm going to be sore tomorrow after all the weed pulling. I'm so not cooking tonight. DH has a BBQ for work, and I'm sending A to McDonalds. No idea what E and I will do, but she has LONG days right now. She accidentally overslept this morning and was late to her lab, but she said she was caught up at break time. But they have labs every day for the next few weeks from 8:30 to 5:15, and then she gets home around 7, unless they get done early.

I'm super proud of her, though. She took her Quantum Physics test on Friday and got her grade back today....8.5. I don't know what the statistics are, but this is one of those classes that is usually a tough one to pass, so she did awesome.

And tomorrow we get A's results for his 2 classes. There's pretty much no way he could fail, because he had a 7.7 average in Math and an 8 in Physics going into the final exams, and you only need 5.5 to pass. And really, he only needed a 5 to pass math and a 4 to pass physics, because he had such high grades in everything else that they would compensate. You can get two 5s, or one 4 and one 5 and still pass as long as everything else is at least a 6, and you can't get lower than a 5 in math or Dutch. But all of his scores except Dutch were around an 8 last year. And because his averages were so high, he only needed a 1.3 on his final exam to get a 5.5 in Math I think? And even less in Physics. So unless he missed every question, he couldn't really fail. But it will be nice to get the official report and find out his actual grades.
