Batuu Speeder Chase

@Disgruntled Walt

This submission was excellent, but hindered a tiny bit by its similarities to other rides in its park.

The Terrier

Indiana Jones and the Lost Temple Gliders

@D Hulk

It's always a pleasure to see DisneySky make a cameo appearance. I felt that this attraction was a the slightest bit too similar to Disneyland's classic Temple of the Forbidden Eye, but that doesn't hold it back further than a third place spot!

The Automobile

Thorn Mountain

@WaltWiz1901

Just a very solid pitch all around! This is my favorite quintessentially Disney pitch of the prompt.

The Top Hat

Iron Man: Test Flight

@Mr. Sullivan

The perfect balance of coaster and theme!

B&O Railroad

The theme park world was taken by storm last month when Disney announced the newest gem in its Castle park crown: Disneyland Abu Dhabi. The discussion began immediately: what will Disney do with an unlimited budget, but also with the constraints Abu Dhabi’s harsh, middle eastern climate presents? And now, it’s up to you!

Pitch a land to be featured in Disneyland Abu Dhabi

This prompt is due on Saturday the 14th at 12:00 AM Disneyland Time (PST)

Tips ‘n’ Tricks

This is the last prompt before the Chance Card will be given out, so this is your last chance to get into the top slot! It won’t break the game, but trust me, it’ll be nice to have. All Disney IP is fair game. Consider reinventing a classic Castle Park land, but don’t be bound to that! Designing for the Great Indoors will be rewarded.

Community Chest Bonus Point

In an extra sentence, quickly pitch a reinvention of a classic Disney attraction to be incorporated into your land!

Be Our Guest Gardens

A cultural hallmark of the United Arab Emirates is hospitality, and what better way to welcome guests to Disneyland Abu Dhabi but via the Be Our Guest Gardens. This 8-acre, glass-enclosed, 5-story atrium brings visitors into the park through lush and fragrant gardens reminiscent of the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore (and like a reinvented “Main Street” for this new Disneyland partnership) terminating at a distinctly Arabian version of “Be Our Guest” restaurant. At night, the foliage will sparkle with mini-LEDs creating a magical thrill, and multiple pathways provide potential for a different entry experience for each visit, while a river wending its way through the gardens offers a classic Disney water-ride (see below).

COMMUNITY CHEST: The river affords Disney the opportunity to capture the best elements of their classic boat rides from It’s a Small World, Jungle Cruise, or even Listen to the Land for an experience that is unique to this park.

Adventure Oasis
1749498793775.jpeg

This new refreshing twist on the classic Adventureland concept is an outdoor oasis full of adventure, based on those found in the UAE. Guests can find themselves underneath a heavily shaded landscape with plenty of trees where younger guests can participate in an interactive scavenger hunt themed to Aladdin and get sprayed by camels while their parents can eat traditional Emirati food. As for rides, there is a Jungle Cruise-esque ride through a section of the oasis, a carousel themed to the Arabian oryx, an Aladdin-themed log flume similar to the Lion King flume coming to WDSP/DAW, and the attraction described in the bonus.

Bonus:
There is a new indoor show that serves as a spiritual successor to the Tiki Room named the Falcon Club, starring a quartet of respectful, funny falcons that sing.

TOMORROWWORLD

Embracing the challenge of a nearly entirely indoors Disneyland, the newly reinterpreted TomorrowWorld makes its interiority into an asset, delivering a gorgeous interstellar research dome inspired by some of humankind’s greatest contemporary interiors - among these inspirations include the Singapore Airport, the collected works of Zaha Hadid, and of course the neo-futurist structures of UAE itself.

TomorrowWorld serves as a central hub (or node) leading to multiple next-gen indoors attractions, such as an “Stellar Orbiter” found within an observatory planetarium, and a “Big Hero Six Battle Bot Blast” branching shooter dark ride, and secret projects based on Pixar’s WALL*E & Elio, all connected by a vertical, multi-level layout (circled by maglev PeopleMovers) to fully maximize the indoors floor plan.

Lush greenhouse planting and water features soften the aural landscape, reducing any potential mall echo, while expansive panoramic windows and curving connective hallways look out onto rugged tropical karst wildernesses (for what’s a Disney land without expansive rockwork views), so that guests never feel enclosed even while they enjoy complete climate control.

COMMUNITY CHEST: TomorrowWorld’s most prominent outdoor overlook paints a postcard-perfect composition of a sleek post-cyberpunk launch site and dome nestled across a gurgling lagoon, which is home to the land’s signature “Interstellar Mountain” indoors roller coaster, which combines the Cosmic Rewind ride system with Space Mountain’s classic cosmic concept.

I do have some doubts about the tonal contrast created even just by your selection of dragons: for example, would the same riders who want to be flung upside down want to see the Reluctant Dragon?
Just a clarification - my pitch wasn't that the ride would feature pre-existing Disney dragons like Mushu and the Reluctant Dragon. I just needed a picture to accompany the pitch and I googled "Disney dragons" for something.

The Ocean Blue
1749504520131.png
With how hot, hot, hot it gets in Abu Dhabi, a swim in the ocean is surely a very popular activity - and who better than Disney to take guests under the sea as a way to beat the heat? This entirely indoor air-conditioned land uses projections, lighting, fountains (you may get wet!), and even aquarium tanks to transport guests to the bottom of the ocean, with attractions and character meet-and-greets aplenty and dining and shopping galore. Rides include the dizzying Finding Nemo-themed wild mouse coaster Crush's Turtle Twister, a Little Mermaid-themed flume a la Pirates of the Caribbean or It's a Small World, an Octopus flat ride starring Hank from Finding Dory, and...

BONUS: As a counterpart to the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction found at other Disney parks, Soaring Seals is an "aerial carousel" where riders soar through the "sky" aboard a silly-looking seal - while dodging baby whales that squirt water out of their blowholes at them!

Gangster Alley
1749503352038.png
Welcome to the colorful, over-the-top world of Dick Tracy and his crimefighting adventures, which take place in perpetual twilight! When thinking about a unique experience for the Abu Dhabi park, it occurred to me that the 1920s gangster era is as foreign (if you will) a concept as you can get! The land includes dining (a nightclub Club Ritz table-service restaurant with jazz entertainment adjusted tastefully for the Abu Dhabi audience ;), and the quick-service Mike's Diner) and the headliner attraction Dick Tracy's Crimestoppers, which was once planned for Disney-MGM Studios.

Community Chest: While the headliner isn't based on a classic Disney attraction, a Tower of Terror-esque drop ride within a hotel run by Big Boy Caprese's goons Flattop and Itchy—I wouldn't want them at the controls of the elevator shaft!

Endor
IMG_6346.jpeg
Out of the many alien worlds featured in the Star Wars franchise, the forest moon of Endor has always been one of the most iconic, and now guests at Disneyland Abu Dhabi can visit the home of the Ewoks. The environment is the highlight of the land, with a layered treetop design adding an extra axis of interactivity, and the screen-layered walls and ceilings allowing for equal time to be given to both the day and night aesthetics of Endor even on long summer days. The area also features an exciting roster of attractions such as walk-around Ewok animatronics, live musicals performances by Wicket and his friends, and an exciting light gun ride that allows guests to participate in the famous Battle of Endor from Return of the Jedi.

Community Chest: The UNDENIABLY classic Chip n Dale’s Treehouse is lovingly transformed into Wicket’s Treehouse, Rub Nub!

MONSTROPOLIS

xlRpgKk.png

In the east corner of the all new Disneyland Abu Dhabi sits the all indoor land of Monstropolis, inspired by the beloved Pixar classic film Monster's Inc.

As guests enter the land, they get the feeling that they are outdoors as they arrive on a Monsters inc version of Main Street where they can pass alongside various building facades, turn the corner to find new streets, find a large park in the middle of the city, and look up to find the ceiling painted a lovely sky blue with the clouds shaped like various monster figures in the sky.

The land features lots of activities for families to do and see including a walkthrough (featuring various monster parodies of famous artworks in the Monstroplis Museum of Art), a playground, a door-themed roller coaster, an omnimover that moves on rails above the land giving guests a tour of the city, a meet and greet with Mike and Sulley, a place for guests to get their very own Monsters, Inc. name badges and job certificates (at the Recruitment Center), a dark ride (where guests board Mike's new car for a zany ride through the city), a children's drop tower themed to a scream canister, a musical show at the Scarywood Bowl, two dining locations, and a merch location.

COMMUNITY CHEST

Guests of the original Disneyland may notice that the dark ride, Mike's New Car, is a modern reinvention of the classic Mr. Toad's Wild Ride featuring Mike's car (similar to Toad's hot rod) going on a destructive joyride through Monstropolis featuring charming cut out flats like the original Fantasyland attraction.

Agrabah

IMG_0654.webp

Out all the well beloved movies from Walt Disney Animation in their renaissance era, Aladdin is one that never really got the type of theme park quality it deserved, but with an upcoming 7th park in Abu Dhabi in the works, I hope they at least include a Aladdin land or ride, since they both are in/take place in the Middle East, you know? As guest enter this hypothetical land, they will find themselves walking through the Streets Of Agrabah towards The Sultan’s Palace in outdoor/living land, though there will be a lot of shade & indoor locations to protect the guests from the hot weather. As for what you can find in the land, you can shop at the Agrabah Marketplace, have a delicious meal inside the palace, ride the various flat rides based around characters from Aladdin (such as Abu, Jasmine, & Jafar, to name a few), & the main E-Ticket dark ride either retelling the Aladdin story or an entirely original one.

Guests can be able to find The Cave Of Wonders in the land as well, & inside, they can find a show with Genie, who performs a bunch of his magic tricks to entertain us, though it does take some inspiration behind the now closed MuppetVision 3D.

Planet Turo

Ah yes, Jumba Jookiba’s home planet is now a full-on land of its own, featuring a mix of interactive play areas (Jumba’s Lab), educational walkthroughs (Tales of Oahu, What Makes Us Us) restaurants and shops, an omnimover ride (Lilo and Stitch’s Growing Together), a launched, suspended coaster (Stitch’s Racing Rockets), and an EMV ride (Gantu’s Adventure Buggy). The land is also home to character dining and lots of M&Gs, as you go on a partly-educational journey on the planet, leaning about Hawaiian culture.

Community Chest:

Said dark ride is based on the classic Indiana Jones system and can be seen as a reimagined DINOSAUR, albeit featuring the Experiments rather than prehistoric beasts (though focusing on the ones that do resemble prehistoric beasts like Slugger, Richther, and Retro).
