Hi everyone! It has been almost 10 years since our last Disney trip in 2016, but my family and I are kicking around the possibility of a trip in Feburary of 2026. It would be for 8 people over two "families." It would be my parents, myself, and my single brother and then my married brother, his wife, and two kids 5 and 7. My brother and SIL plan on pulling the kids out of school so they are not worried about working around the school calendar. They just want to go when its cooler and crowds are a bit lower. Right now we are considering either the week befofre mid winter break up here in the Northeast or the week after. I am leaning towards the week after for the slighly warmer temps. What is everyones experience with this time of year? We have always went in late August and although very hot the crowds weren't usually too bad as alot of the Southern schools had altready started for the year.

As of right now we are thinking that we will probably stay at Shades of Green since we just found out that my Dad is eligible to stay there now as he is a disabled veteran. We have never stayed there before, We typically stay at a Value resort. We are thinking ptobably about a week. My brother wants to do a day in each park and then do Universal and Epic Universe. As stated, my parents myself and my single brother haven't been in 10 years. My brother and his wife took the kids in Jan 2024 for the first time and they only did like 3 days. He is not really a Disney person. His startegy is get in, do as much as the kids can do and get out lol.

It is generally a nice time to visit. Usually lesser crowds. Thank you so much for your Dad's service in the military. How wonderful! My Grandfather was in the miltary at Oak Ridge and then later was at Nagasaki the week after it happened. I would try to avoid February 9-13 and President's weekend due to events etc. How nice y'all are visiting Disney again. I'm sure you will enjoy the changes to Disney since you've been a time ago. I'm sure your brother may enjoy Epic more if he's not really a Disney person. Y'alls kids may enjoy Winnie the Pooh and Friends at the Crystal Palace at MK or Akershus at Epcot with a meal with the princesses if you have female kids. Enjoy your trip!

For you sized group Shades will be wonderful, and it would take me forever to say how much I like it. It's the quietest resort on property and among the biggest rooms so you'll be quite comfortable. The only thing not great I can say about it is it's not as heavily themed and the other deluxe resorts have better food options. I also love it has all the perks of a deluxe and dedicated busses

That's a wonderful family trip you're planning

With Presidents' Day (Feb 16th) and the Princess Half Marathon (Feb 20th-24th) that month, aiming for early February might offer you the best chance for cooler weather with more manageable crowds.

Shades of Green sounds like a great choice for your group of eight with its spacious accommodations. Six parks is ambitious, so definitely plan for some downtime and prioritize your must-dos, especially with the little ones and everyone's different Disney experiences.

Hope you all have a fantastic time planning and an even better trip!

Avoid any time surrounding the Princess Marathon as crowds are miserable. As a whole other than that February is generally not so bad, although not as "slow" as it used to be years ago. The summer has become the "off season".

At times the Feb weather can be iffy. It could be warmer or cooler. You may want to be prepared with packing both shorts and a sweatshirt and long pants just in case. It's hard to say what crowds may be, it once was at that time low and an ideal time to visit but now many are planning trips like you. Although its being reported that for a variety of reasons Dis numbers are down or will be down in the future. No one knows exactly what the Epic effect / possible recession/ just plain disappointment w/ Dis will have on numbers. WE enjoyed our several Feb trips.
