Definitely hard to judge now since they are keeping capacity so low AND they had so many previews that is suspect for many guests this is not their first time at the park so already done the rides, possibly with the exception of Battle at the Ministry as that was open the least during previews.

Monsters Unchained having one of the lowest wait times is interesting (currently 10 mins while Mario Kart is 45 and Mine Kart is 25) ... Though I do think it has pretty high capacity when running well. Certainly more than Mine Kart
forgive me for sounding out of the loop but when it comes to Universal I kind of am lol, are they not allowing people in standby lines?

Seems reasonable since they plan to expand. Here’s IoA’s yearly attendance. Starts in 2008.

5,290,000[52]
4,627,000[53]
5,949,000[54]
7,674,000[55]
7,981,000[1]
8,141,000[1]
8,141,000[56]
8,792,000[57]
9,362,000[58]
9,549,000[59]
9,788,000[60]
10,375,000[61]
4,005,000[62]
9,077,000[63]
11,025,000[64]
10,000,000[65]

Wouldn't the first three figures be artificially low because of The Great Recession?

Seem like pre-Covid, 'normal' was 8-10M, and post-Covid, 9-11M. That's a 10% increase.

That seems more likely than seeing an increase of 4M to 11M, which would be a 250% increase.

No?

At the risk of getting too far off topic here, if we believe that Dark Universe is in fact less popular with the general park audience, could it not just be because of Universal's execution of the land, rather than its themes?

Having been to EU twice now--once during previous and a second time on Friday--I really think neither of the rides in that land is particularly well done. Audio animatronics aside, the rest of MU leaves a lot to be desired. Most folks in my group had similar responses, which I realize is a far cry from what the online hype-people have been pushing. I still think there is a lot of potential in those IPs that Universal could do more with. I would also expect that TDO could do a much better job with the theming in their own villains/monsters land, which goes a long way.

Having watched a few MU POVs now, I'm inclined to agree. AAs not withstanding it seemed kind of boring. What was the plot? With most of EUs more grandiose attraction offerings, Universal Creative still relies too heavily on screens. It's well done but I think the story could be better told in a physical space. My take away from the video is once you get past the initial monster reveals it just becomes a convoluted Audio/Video acid trip, like a special effects demo reel and then it ends. It's style over substance. I think if it were paced better, slowed down I'd get the premise, but it was a complete wash on my viewings. I honestly couldn't tell you what I saw. I probably would have exited the attraction more confused then amazed. But perhaps it reads differently in-person.

I think a lot of it is the in-person experience...camera can only catch so much... Not sure how it could be boring though...it is a non-stop race through the catacombs on a kuka arm based platform, constantly moving in multi directions with all of they eye candy, fully dimensional settings, AA and screen integration... I have not ridden it yet, so I could be completely wrong and it is a snoozefest, but it sure doesn't look that way to me... i am a lot less interested in the spinning coaster that has so many nets it must be like riding through a colander...It is a shame they cannot find a way to remove all these barriers.... The land looks beautifully done and well detailed...Maybe needs another ride as I am sure they already know and are planning....

I’ve ridden it probably 10 times and I have no idea what these people are talking about. The plot is very clear and the ride is very fun. The way I look at it is if Spider-Man had animatronics and Forbidden Journeys ride system.
