Alright you guys have convinced me it probably doesn’t make sense to do a 5th gate. Yet, at least. Villains will add some capacity to with the additional footprint. Maybe by what 10,000 a day?

Magic Kingdom is open 12-13 hours a day. We don’t know the capacity of any of the rides, but I would hope the coaster is at least in the 1600-2000 riders per hour range. That alone adds 24000ish in daily attraction capacity. We know it will have at least one more attraction as well, and hopefully it has decent dining capacity and an alternate fireworks viewing location similar to the Galaxy’s Edge show in Disneyland. I’m not sure what you mean with the 10k figure you brought up. Do you mean 10k more people a day? I’d hope not; that’d be, like, a 20% increase in daily visitors closer to pre-2020 numbers.

I do worry about areas like Main Street in terms of crowds. Villains will add capacity but if done well I think it will be huge in terms of bringing people to the park. Still wish it was in HS.

Do we even want to see what a fifth gate would be like under Iger?
There is nothing they’re doing that is magically making the existing parks “better.” They’re just replacing existing stuff with new stuff.
A-yup. 'Cause it's cheaper, apparently.
Some of their current and recent projects have been expansions, some have expanded capacity, some have increased utilization, and others have simply been replacements.
How many of the recent projects haven't replaced anything? All I can think of are Tron and Remy's Crapatouille... I Mean, Ratatouille Adventure. Everything else?

- Most of Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story Land replaced the Backlot Tour, the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground, and Lights Motors Action. So that's a net gain of one new attraction (Rise of the Resistance, Millennium Falcon, Slinky Dog Dash, and Swirling Saucers makes four, it replaced three attractions), right?
- Mickey's Slow-Moving Railway replaced the Great Movie Ride
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind replaced Universe of Energy
- Monstropolis is replacing Muppets, but since it'll be both the door coaster and a theater show that's a net gain of one new attraction I guess...
- Cars is replacing the Rivers of America, taking out the Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island
- Tropical Americas is replacing Dinoland and will only have three rides - that's not a net gain, even if Primeval Whirl was torn down years ago

I won't even bother including the rethemes like Tiana's Bayou "Adventure" and Muppets Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

I hope they make it so Villains becomes a way to watch the fireworks similar to Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland, to help eliminate crowds for Happily Ever After at least

So Villains Land I wonder if some of current meet and greets will move here ?
I feel certain the Meet & Greets were probably the first priority in Villains land... I am more concerned about the attractions and general land... We may get a decent coaster, but what else? I would love to see some exploration pathways through caverns or dark forests...that are not necessarily part of a queue for a meet and greet or ride... A sort of replacement for the exploration you could do on TSI...plus a really good dark ride...a TS Restaurant along with QS and some decent thematic shopping venues...each themed to a different Villain ... Not a big World of Villains store... Where shopping could become part of the entertainment.... and please oh please, one really great themed Adult cocktail bar....

Just a guess, Villains land will have two attractions, probably a family coaster like the mine train themed to villains and for the 2nd attraction the villains show from DHS. The show will run for a while in DHS to develop it then close in DHS and then reopen in villains land. By then there will have been several years between shows.

Probably one quick serve food place and maybe one sit down counter service food place.

At least one formal gift shop in the land.

At least one meet and greet location.

Remember that New Fantasyland was almost going to be near entirely meet and greets, but got saved by a last minute decision from executives. I don't think they would make the same mistake twice, this lineup needs a serious attraction or two.

I don't want another darn roller coaster. MK already has enough. Disney hasn't built a pure dark ride domestically besides MMR in over a decade, and it turned out to be a maintenance and show nightmare. But if they want to be serious, they are going to have to put one in with this. Will they? Probably not and we'll probably get another coaster instead... While OLC continues to order dark ride after dark ride... Never mind that, from a pure categorical perspective, a show, much less to show that has been running for years, doesn't technically count as an attraction in itself. (Entertainment and attractions are two different things after all.) if all they put in is a GE style 2 ride (or less) land it really will have been a waste of money.

I don't understand why people think a fifth park at WDW is needed or would be a good thing. I find the worst thing about Disney World is the attraction density at it's Theme Parks. If the higher ups could concentrate on getting their four existing parks to the same sort of attraction density as it's Disneyland's two parks I think this would make the world of difference and truly start blowing Universal out the water again.

I am excited for a Vilians "distorted" version of Fantasyland and think this could be an excellent addition. I really hope it becomes a land that can breathe with lots of exploration and discovery.

I don’t need another ursula ride when we’ve got a big animatronic of her in the park already. I hope they give some other vilains the spotlight.

Also, if by "dark" one means "indoors," then Cosmic Rewind is dark ride.

If that doesn't count as a dark ride because it's a coaster and not a "pure dark ride," then one is going to have to throw down a definition of "dark ride" that doesn't include coasters, and pray such definition stands up to scrutiny and to a host of counterexamples.

While there is obviously some overlap when different traditional models get blended together in modern complex ride systems, I don’t think indoor coasters or simulators are ever really dark rides in the strictest sense in spite of taking place in the dark. A big part of the dark ride experience is being carefully guided past stage-lit, black-lit, or possibly projected dark scenes. That generally doesn’t happen when blasting through a box at high speeds or sitting parked in front of a screen.
