E made me some bookmarks for Mother's Day! (And she got me a book)
The black and blue bookmarks are made with a gold foil embossing technique.....the blue one is hard to see, but it's the original cover style of Pride and Prejudice, which is one of my absolute favorite books ever. The one in the middle is a finger-weaving technique from the middle ages. It's really cute!!

Planted 86 tomato plants on Thursday and Friday. This was the latest I have planted. I usually plant around April 22nd. Thank you Chicago weather.

This was our Mother's Day baking, which we did in advance. I wanted cheesecake, which the boys won't eat because they are silly. So we made brownies for them. We made blueberry sauce for the cheesecake, but found it a bit overpowering. We had put some lemon in the blueberry sauce, but we had to buy a whole net of lemons and only needed one, so E used the others to make lemon posset to eat with the blueberry sauce.

E's birthday cake. She's 19 today! I baked the cake and made the frosting, and she decorated it. It's very her... Combining her hobbies of crafting and gardening with her love of Science. I asked her if she wanted me to decorate it for her, and what she wanted on it, and I suggested DNA strands, and she went looking for DNA strands and vines and came up with this and since she loves doing it, she wanted to do it herself. I think she did a great job!
