Thoughts on Disney's Yacht Club?

Oh wow, so my trip went from visiting just Animal Kingdom for one day to going to the French Quarter, and now we're staying at Yacht Club for a week. Funny how things developed! We are aiming for May 2026. What's Yacht Club like? Did you like it better than Beach Club? Is it cheaper than Beach Club? Can we get a discount for May 2026? There are 3 adults.

Yacht Club is a lovely resort. It has a more adult vibe than Beach Club, which tends to cater to families. As sister resorts they share amenities and buses, with YC being first pick up and drop off (a benefit.)

Stormalong Bay is a fun water “playground” which can easily occupy a day. Lounge chairs can be hard to come by in mid-afternoon but the three quiet pools typically have available chairs.

Walkability to Epcot, DHS and the Skyliner is a huge plus. Easy access to many quick service and table service restaurants. YC has a special coffee bar if that’s important to you.

YC and BC are similarly priced. Discounts for May 2026 have not been released. YC rooms tend to be discounted more than BC.

I also prefer Yacht Club to Beach Club. As mentioned above it does seem to cater more to adults in terms of decor (darker, richer colors) and overall vibe. Great restaurants and lounges. Their quick serve marketplace is much better than Beach Club's, in my opinion and then you have Ale & Compass, A&C Lounge, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and Crews Cup Lounge -- all of which are awesome. Believe Ale & Compass also offers food to-go which can be convenient. For both resorts the location can't be beat with ability to walk, boat or skyliner to 2 parks and several other adjacent resorts you can explore for dining or shopping.

We enjoy the Beach/Yacht area a lot. They are both convenient to Epcot and HS. Honestly, my wife prefers the Beach Club, but we've stayed at both. It is so nice to watch the fireworks from your resort as well and the Electrical Water Pageant. Their pools is oh so incredible for swimming, Stormalong Bay. I truly enjoy saltwater pools the best. Yachtsman Steakhouse is delicious with their Parker House Rolls they have. Their breakfast is also very scrumptious. We also enjoy eating at Cape May. It is such a wonderful place for a character breakfast and their seafood buffet is really good as well for dinner. The Boardwalk and Swan and Dolphin are also very close! Abracadabar may be kind of fun at the Boardwalk if you enjoy magic. And who doesn't like that? :) Happy Travels to you!

The Electrical Water Pageant is at the MK resorts, not Epcot.

We honeymooned, many moons ago, at Beach Club it was a great resort. We have yet to stay at Yacht Club, but it’s on our list.

We do, however, love Ale and Compass at Yacht club for their delicious breakfast offering of crab cake eggs Benedict.

Great recommendation about Crews Cup Lounge....I've not ever eaten there when I've stayed at the Beach/Yacht..but I've read where it is a wonderful and very little known spot to get a bite to eat for great food and great service!

Yacht Club is also dog-friendly. I say this not only in case you wanted to bring one, but in case anyone in your party is severely allergic to or has a fear of dogs.

We like both. Most of the time they are pretty close to the same price, but it is always worth checking, because sometimes the pricing is different. WDW offers discounts based on how many rooms are booked, so if you look at a specific date during a discount, one might be less discounted than another. And of course the pricing varies by the type of rooms that are available.

Just because WDW offers an 'up to 30%' deal that is NOT the same as 30% off. Often rooms are on 'sale' but the actual discount is only like 10% off full rack. And it can even be that say a standard room is 30% off, but a different type of room has a smaller discount.

For me, I will happily stay at either, but often make a decision based on where I get the biggest discount.

Both Yacht and beach club are awesome. The Yacht Club is scheduled for room refurbishments next year. Once that is complete yacht and beach will be about the same in price. Right now they discount yacht club a little more. We prefer Yacht over Beach.

we stayed at YC the last 2 years & had a water view room both times. as others mentioned, it does have a more adult feel to it. good lounges to relax in mid day. it’s big draw is having easy access to epcot. as far as HS, we took the boat ride which was very relaxing. another big perk is the many dining options available between YC, BC, BW & bars as well. my only regret was not taking advantage of the pool both times we stayed there. i just didn’t have the time. we are staying at a 1 bedroom villa at BCV this fall. looking forward to it.

OK, am I missing the joke? This poster is clearly not a real person. Nobody has ever watched the Electric Water Pageant from either BC or YC. Why is this bot still being allowed to post?
Again, I was there in March and we most of the time stay at the Beach Club. Because of Stormalong construction, we stayed at the Wilderness that does have the Electrical Water Pageant. And, again Disney graciously upgraded us to the Yosemite Suite which is often called the Vice Presidential Suite. They were doing construction on other rooms on the floor so we were bumped us up. Thank you oh so much Disney!!!! A once in a lifetime experience!!!! My wife did take the master with the heated bidets, but she deserves it!

Yacht Club is our all time favorite Disney resort and probably one of our favorite hotels anywhere. Great food options there and nearby. Stormalong Bay is the best pool at any resort and not just a Disney resort. QUick walk to Epcot. Lap around the boardwalk at night. Then back home to such a beautiful resort. It's got such a tranquil vibe. A rocking chair on the Yacht Club porch in the morning with my breakfast or at night with a cocktail...nothing better.

Also all rooms at the Yacht Club have balconies, whereas there are some at the Beach Club that don’t.
I laugh because our Beach Club "balcony" was more Juliet than Romeo. However, at the Yacht Club, the balconies are legit.

I believe the room refurbishment is ongoing with only the first floor remaining in the older style. So, very soon, there will only be refurbished rooms available.

not sure when the last time YC had the rooms updated. on our stays in 2023-24, we were quite happy with the rooms. i would’ve liked a walk in shower vs a tub/shower combo, but that’s a minor preference.
