Time to complete our FARTS trip...

Day 3- February 3

The morning started off sketchy. Hope could not get into her class. The Wi-Fi was horrible and we had to deal with a bit of a meltdown. Thankfully, I convinced her that she could watch the recording and she was able to get herself under control quickly. I was also able to get a VQ for Tiana. Julia was beyond excited as she still had not ridden the entire ride. If you remember from my Dec 24 TR, we were evacuated right before the final drop. We got boarding group 35 which was good, early enough, but not too early because we had something else to take care of first.

We took a bus to the Magic Kingdom. There was a ton of people waiting for the MK bus, but I gotta say, POP gets it right. There were three MK buses there when we walked up to the bus stop with another one pulling in.

We got on bus number three. We would not be without some drama though… It was weird because the bus started loading and right before we got on, a woman who had someone in a wheelchair walked up to the bus driver and told him to load the wheelchair. The thing is, they were nowhere in sight when the bus started to load. They just pulled up midway. She was nasty. I felt bad for the bus driver who gave into her and stopped boarding so he could put the wheelchair on. He told her that he really wasn’t allowed to do that. But she didn’t seem to care and wasn’t the least bit appreciative. Soon enough we were all on our way.

We were all excited to get a glimpse of the castle, but MK was not our first destination of the day. From MK, we got the monorail up to the Polynesian.

We found our way to Captain Cooks. Julia was very excited because it was had been a long time since we all had Tonga toast!

I got a breakfast flatbread, which was really yummy.

Hope got a reliable staple...

The Tonga toast I’m sad to say it was a tad bit disappointing. It was very bready and dry and wasn’t exactly how I or Julia remembered it. The last time we indulged in Tonga Toast was pre-Covid. Enough said. Guess another one bites the dust to the pandemic.

We hopped back on the monorail and into the Magic Kingdom.

Our boarding group for Tiana has been called, so we decided to hop on the train to reach our destination.

Would we actually get to ride Tiana without being evacuated today? We shall see…

We changed our virtual queue to a lightning lane and then got on line.

As we walked along, we joked about getting evacuated again. Hope announced that she made a wish that we would! I’m not sure how she got to be such a fan of ride evacuations!

We continued on and as we approached the front of the line, we stopped. An announcement came over the crowd with a short delay. Julia and I looked at each other. No way! I thought. Yet it was true… Soon enough, the temporary pause announcement turned into a closure with no idea when it will reopen. They had us continue walking through the area where we would have boarded.

We saw people on some of the logs waiting to be taken off.

We walked out through the little gift shop area. They scanned our bands to give us a recovery lightning lane, which oddly enough is not good on Tron, 7DMT, or Peter Pan. Now I get if you get a recovery lightning lane for it’s a small world. I wouldn’t expect that to be good on Tron, but Tiana is pretty much the highest up there right along with Tron. I would think it would be good for anything in the park.

Spoiler alert – Tiana never went back up during our time at MK. So Julia would have to wait for our next trip to finally attempt to make her way down the Bayou.

I think we ended up joking about it the whole day! When we go on a line now, we tell Hope, "Don't make any evacuation wishes!"

I don't know what she is going to do when those ears give out. They are her FAVORITE! She calls them her Buddy Boyle ears since she loves him to death. lol I actually got them in a set from Sam's Club when it was on clearance.

After our Tiana debacle, we headed out into Frontierland and caught a raft to Tom Sawyer Island. Something we hadn't done in a long time. And yes, we are all devastated to know its doom is imminent.

The day had really warmed up, so our next stop was to get some much needed refreshments...

We took our treats indoors to sing with our bird friends. I think I'm in the minority here, but I have to admit, I really like this show!
