Is it so hard for them to just keep what they have and fill in the empty spaces?
That's the general idea, yeah. Incredibles-themed area. Subtle secret identity-inspired restaurant overlay, Elaborate M&G and the Incredibles children in a Speedway overlay.By "supers Themed" do you mean Incredibles? That would fit the aesthetic... and could work nicely...but a slow gas powered 20th century speedway would never fir The Incredibles and no longer fits the idea of Tomorrowland in any way...Maybe something all new in the space themed to The Incredibles... Redo the Ice Cream place to A'La Mode and theme it to Edna Mode... Sonny Eclipse is not original to the park, and I would be up for replacing him with something better....but not removed for more seating... it would not add enough to make it worthwhile, and the entertainment aspect of something in that dining room would be a major loss.
Well that's good, I was under the impression from other posters here that asbestos was still an issue for the SGE buildingMost of the Magic Kingdom and the rest of the original Phase I of Walt Disney World was abated back at the turn of the century.
Well, there was a long drawn out re-do of the decorative elements. And TRON.People have been speculating on a Tomorrowland re-do for a decade. I'd bet heavily on the nothing burger for this location.
Case in point....Getting rid of Sonny Eclipse, A) would net you about 60 people's worth of table seating at a restaurant that seemingly has endless lines for food already, and B) Removes what little charm, character, and soul remains in Tomorrowland.
So... Bob & Josh probably already have plans greenlit to do renovate the entire restaurant to 'modernize it'. Hopefully they'll ensure it's brightly lit with LED lights and follows the unimaginative, uninspired white/beige/light brown color scheme they seem to be in love with, just to put a cherry on top of thatsundae.
The tunnels run under there and are used by support (i.e. cargos, cargo, employees walking, break room)Wonder if they could connect SGE space and MILF space underground and use it for one long tracked attraction. I think that part of the kingdom is still on the "second floor"
They probably haven’t done anything with it because it’s already one of the most popular restaurants in the park and it wouldn’t really be worth it to change it separate from a big Tomorrowland overhaul.I feel Cosmic Ray’s is only surviving from the mere fact that Sonny Eclipse is really popular.
Also Disney not knowing really what to do with Tomorrowland helps.
At least ours is in half decent shape compared to DL’s with its forever entrance concept art.![]()
It's surviving because that side of the park needs high-capacity blandtacular F&B.I feel Cosmic Ray’s is only surviving from the mere fact that Sonny Eclipse is really popular.
Having eaten there recently, Connections basically looks like a nice food court area in one of the Las Vegas mega-resort hotels on LV Blvd. - not bad but more fitting to a convention hotel than something I'd have ever expected to see in Epcot.Case in point....

I’m confused ?Having eaten there recently, Connections basically looks like a nice food court area in one of the Last Vegas mega-resort hotels on LV Blvd. rather than something I'd have ever expected to see in Epcot.
Apart from Stitch, I can't see them updating MK's Tomorrowland anytime soon. With the leadup to Tron, that land got a lot of gradual updates including:
- New paint scheme throughout the land
- New entrance sign for the land from the hub
- New entrance sign for Laugh Floor
- Removal of Toy Story Aliens merch stand that didn't fit
- Carousel of Progress minor updated in final scene (new clothes)
- PeopleMover new narration
- Tomorrowland Power Company -> Tomorrowland Launch Depot
- Tron
- Buzz Lightyear updates next year
Just wait for Laugh Floor moves to the Muppet Theater and we have a Dead Alley on both sides..Also there’s very little hot IP that is “future” themed. Stitch and Buzz are already featured in other locations around the park / resorts, and beyond them, nothing readily comes to mind. As their box office picks back up, wonder if they’d prefer holding out for a new IP in that area.

Ever since Eifteling Park introduced Intamin's Dynamic Motion theater I would think this would be a neat thrill ride for the Laugh Floor spot since it was a Circle vision theater...All they would have to do is think of an IP to theme it to...

None of the Sci-fi IPs really fit that ride type unfortunately.Seems like they’ve made a few attempts but nothing really caught on. Lightyear, Strange World, now Elio. Probably doesn’t help that the obvious fit, Star Wars, gets funneled into another park / land.
Agree, that’s why I’m wondering if they’ll look to release another sci-fi movie before any updates. Especially, again, as their brief box office slump is really turning around.None of the Sci-fi IPs really fit that ride type unfortunately.
