My guess would be that a child dropped it near your car. Someone walking by, assuming it belonged to your family, put it on the car handle where it would be hard to miss (even if it wasn’t yours, if the family came back looking for it, less chance of it getting smashed there).

The most logical reasoning is the toy soldier was on some sort of mission and saw you or another human approaching, forcing him to freeze in place. He learned from the first movie after watching a comrade get stepped on by Andy's mom, to NEVER freeze where people walk (or in this case drive). That's how injuries happen.

Maybe they thought you were driving a Jeep and the army man was a duck?

Some variant of ducking a jeep in play here

Annoying TikTok trend right now where people are hiding little plastic ducks and Jesus figures around the parks. I suppose someone bought a bucket of Green Army Men and are possibly spreading those around too.

Would not have guessed that. I guess that’s kind of a cute harmless trend, unlike the “ice cream licking” trend of a few years ago. 🤢

It’s the new recruitment strategy to increase enlistment numbers. Lots of eligible boys and girls looking for an adventure. Subliminal message…. Joining the Army is just as fun as a day at Disney.

I've noticed this trend at a major American Air Force museum near where I live... some of the participants are hyper-focused on their favorite airplanes and leave "tributes" on or near the railings and information signs.

Others seem to be in it for social media clicks.

In either case, those "tributes" get collected and turned in to the Keepers of the Lost & Found. If unclaimed after a suitable period, I understand that they get repurposed (🤹‍♂️) or recycled (🗑️).

So if you're into this kind of activity, please don't get upset when you can't find your "tribute" on your next visit.

How exactly would that play out if one of these challenge participants actually did get upset if one of their little toys went missing from where they left it? 🤔

Disney Security: "Yes, what seems to be the problem?"
Guest: "I need help finding Jesus."

Jeeps get ducks left on their handles (that's why all these jeep owners have ducks on their dash). Santa Cruz's get frogs left on there car. I've gotten a couple. I have them on my dash. Maybe it's something like that.
