$200 million for a re-theme is wild to me. With that type of budget I wonder if they are re-doing the track/ride-system.Also from the press release, it was revealed that the re-theme of Buzz to Wreck-It Ralph would cost over $200 million.
I'm glad Port Discovery is getting an upgrade, but extremely sad they chose to kill off Aquatopia and leave that generic Nemo simulator untouched
Also weird to do this before they use up the emply plot next door
I’m hoping, I know big blue sky ideas like this never happen 100% but there’s no way you could ever get the Incredibles to fit in Adventureland. That IP is much better suited for an IP park anywaysso is anyone here holding out hope that they pull a Wonderland on the Incredibles part of the redo and mothball it in favor of overhauling the Jungle Cruise as it currently stands?
Here’s hoping. Finally having DisneySky to complete the Land/Sea/Sky trio would be awesome. It’d justify them adding another hotel to DisneySea with zero expansion plans for that park. What are the chances this is a strategy to convince business executives to green light a 3rd gate? So many IPs/ideas to throw into the existing parks... why not flesh them out elsewhere?
There is speculation of them buying nearby warehouses (close to the newer TDS parking garage) for them to play around with. Here’s hoping. Do they have enough room for a third park at least the same size as the smaller of the two existing?
Those in charge in Tokyo aren't like the 'super fans' here who think longstanding attractions are sacrosanct and may never be touched. They're not going to jump in to save a nostalgic ride. If they were going to do so, their Space Mountain wouldn't be completely redesigned. What are the chances this is a strategy to convince business executives to green light a 3rd gate? To be fair, in that case, it’s still Space Mountain, just a newer version. I feel like upgrades are much easier pills to swallow than replacements. Those in charge in Tokyo aren't like the 'super fans' here who think longstanding attractions are sacrosanct and may never be touched. Tokyo Disney fans and powers that be want popular Disney IP. And if that means booting old rides and IP past their prime, so be it.
Just now realizing- Tokyo’s CBJ looks to be connected to the Tiki Room like in MK.View attachment 856000
Here is a visual of their current space, honestly I wish TDR would just get rid of Ikispiari and build a new park. That might sound controversial, but to me it's nothing more than like an indoor and outdoor shopping mall. They could gain a ton of space that way.
Ikspiari is tiny, less than half the size of Fantasy SpringsHere is a visual of their current space, honestly I wish TDR would just get rid of Ikispiari and build a new park. Could use Ikspiari as expansion space for TDL, to keep the Jungle Cruise/Tiki Room and still add the random IP stuff.Ikspiari is tiny, less than half the size of Fantasy Springs
It's also sandwiched between TDL, a hotel and train tracks
