MK Hall of Presidents Replaced by Muppets American History Show???

If they must change it, I would be okay with this. Although it would mean both Liberty Square attractions are "scary" right? :)
I am in the same boat on this one. Not thrilled with the idea of it changing but do think it will happen. If that is the case, let's put something interesting in for all ages that can still thematically fit the area.

My nightmare version of this is either they just leave it closed, or they announce something like a Toy Story show replacing it.

They could actually turn Liberty Square into a sort of late 18th/early 19th century Sleepy Hollow...I think the story takes place at the end of the 18th century....and the Haunted Mansion architecture looks to be in the late 19th century... 1870-1890... Dock the riverboat and turn the riverboat landing into a steamship station restaurant...creating a bustling Hudson valley waterfront... Where the stream crosses the esplanade ( around the old shooting gallery there could be pillars and gates marking the end of that town and transition to a Mississippi river delta town taking you around to Tiana... Then another sort of gateway transition to the farther west location of Big thunder and some sort of transition into the cartoon world of Cars... THey did an amazing transition at DCA with rockeork portal into Radiator Springs... It feels like the sweep of waterfront...once the water is gone, will need more ways to delineate the spaces from Hudson River Valley New York to Mississsippi River Delta to Red Rock canyons of the old west, and then to cartoon world...and a final to Villains....
I wouldn’t be surprised if something to this effect ends up happening in the next 10 to 15 years. Columbia harbor house could be rethemed to the haunted mansion.

I understand the moderation policies and won't discuss them further as I believe the mods prefer people to take any concerns directly to them if they have them. However, I think the fact it has become so hard to discuss this Magic Kingdom attraction without straying into politics and things getting heated is suggestive of why the time may have come to replace it. People well may think it shouldn't be so hard, but the fact is that it is.
It's pretty simple to me. If someone can easily deduce or infer your political persuasion from your post, then it's a political post.

If some has to squint really hard to read between the lines or has to make assumptions, then it's probably OK.

You kinda "know it when you see it." Think of it this way: if you feel smug or enraged when you hit "send," it probably was a political post!

Disclosure: I have been guilty.

I think the best way to transform liberty square would be to retheme Columbia harbor house to the haunted mansion turn the hall of presidents to the muppets and turn the horseshoe restaurant into a theater for a spooky sleepy hallow show a la festival of the lion king (except obviously less upbeat. I mean in the sense it would have live actors and puppets)

I do not think Disney thinks in terms of wins and losses.

Disney will do what Disney will do, see Tiana, see Moana, see EPCOT renovation, see Muppets, see RoA,

Whatever they decide to do is what THEY WANT TO DO and we all must just accept it.

Some will sing their praises, many will hate it.

Just my opinion.
You have a fair point. The only times I can remember them responding to public backlash on a major attraction was Imagination 2.0 and Superstar Limo, both closing directly due to public backlash. The rest of the instances I can think of are for small things that don't matter like KiteTails.

With other unpopular (with the general public, not just fans) changes, they've tended to last until they can't run anymore. Under New Management only got undone because of a fire, Food Rocks was only replaced to bring in Soarin', and Stitch's Great Escape just lasted until it was silently closed and left to rot. There are tons of examples, I'm sure.

While technically true, it does assume it wasn't a member of the public acting on all of our behalf that started said fire.

Alien Encounter was also lost almost entirely due to public backlash.

That makes me happy I got to experience it. It was open on my senior band trip in Nov 2002. My trip before that was March 1995 so it wasn’t yet open. I went on stitch when I was on the college program in 2004 and hated it. Disgusting.

Yes, it was switched to Stitch and quietly closed later.
I was so blinded by my love for Alien Encounter I forgot that it was just as controversial as it's replacement, lol
