Like "plays" are some kind of inferior form of entertainment.

I'd rather go see live theater than watch a movie. There is just something fascinating about watching the scenes change and the emotional impact a live actor can present to an audience. Its very intimate.

This may be 100% biased because I simply adore and love Ever After, but I wish Disney had gone that route instead. They could do Snow White but as historical fiction like Ever After, basing it on the life of Margaretha von Waldeck, who might have inspired the Snow White tale. Make it historical fiction film like Ever After.

Drew Barrymore made the best versions of Cinderella and The Ugly Duckling -- Ever After and Never Been Kissed.

I agree Ever After was good, but it was a small-to-mid sized budget movie, even for 1998, at only $26M. There is a reason why a majority of those movies don't get made today, they are struggling big time at the box office. At $26M, even in today's money that would only be ~$50M, its not getting made today or would be a streaming movie.

Most people don’t decide to go to a movie based on whether or not it’s a cash grab. Movies exist to be a cash grab.
People across the board have been saying thay they are "sick of these cash grabs" by Disney, though. I said that because that's the terminology people are using to say why they're not going.

I guess the lead actress is upset people are roasting the film and even the Simpsons took a shot at it. I do not condone bullying of celebrities or anyone else, but it's....VERY INTERESTING to me that bullies always crumble instant they get a little push back. They can always dish, but they can't take even a little bit back.

Edit: thankfully, the Simpsons thing isn't real.

What episode of the Simpsons was that? Why would Disney allow that dig?

I was never going to watch it anyway, so thank goodness! 😆 I was afraid to click on any of those videos because then it would have ruined my algorithm.
Your claim that “the lead actress is upset people are roasting the film” also seems to be based on this questionable content. (I’m sure she’s not happy about it, but she has not, as far as I’m aware, publicly expressed her feelings.)
