I think there's an issue with Andor over whether you'd like the show if it wasn't Star Wars or not. I loved it, but I would have loved it if it wasn't Star Wars. I know Star Wars fans, especially ones that watch all the animated stuff who aren't really into it. I think I can understand why. They wouldn't have liked it if it wasn't Star Wars and it isn't like the Star Wars they like.
The best of Star Wars has always blatantly stolen from other genres; consequently, the worst has just been aping other Star Wars content.

Therefore, making a Star Wars series that is a political thriller/prison break/heist story is about as peak Star Wars as you can get.

I feel like people who just want the same old story, with copious action scenes expected to do all the heavy lifting, aren’t going to like Andor.

And that’s fine for them. I like nuance and novelty and being on the edge of my seat. I haven’t liked or managed to sit all the way through any Star Wars (barring Rogue One) since ROTJ.

…that might have to do with Disney and George intentionally making flaming piles of 🐶💩with a focus on “building new audiences” rather than the ethos of the original 3…which is what made it huge in the first place

It wasn’t just cool special effects…we wanted to be there

I probably disagree, but I don't understand your post. Just for the record, I thought it was a slow start but a great series. Are you saying it wasn't?

Haven't seen this, but I'll have to watch it. They were highlighting the new second season on the Today show. They were saying on the interview that they film 3 spisodes of the series a week!

WOW, you being overly positive about something by Disney. Who woulda thunk??

Look at the ratings and get back to me. And I'm not talking about D+, where it's like being the tallest Leprechaun.
Most of those you claim to be always positive about something by Disney is incorrect…. The difference is most of us so called “apologists” watch said media before being critical as we hope for the best

First 3 episodes were interesting.

So Poe (and Finn) can steal a Tie Fighter with relative ease, but Andor can't? Seemed like they just needed to give more tension so they can have the "shoot through the door and crash/fly through it" moment.

Interesting how the TIE fighter Andor "steals" is a TIE Avenger from the Star Wars TIE Fighter game from 1994.

I enjoyed it. I think the edge of our world influences too directly slipping in once again crops up here in Disney Star Wars TV but it was still good. It didn't detract but there's just me wondering what a more fantasy and foreign DJ droid would have looked like and what more alien music would have sounded like for the dance scenes.

The one character trait established for Poe is that he can fly anything because he was meant to die in that first film before the rewrites.

I enjoy me some alien rave scenes!

Cassian is suppose to be a really good pilot too, which is why it surprised me they decided to go with the "I can't figure out how to fly it so I have to shoot out the door" trope for him to escape with the Tie.

The part in Rise of Skywalker where Poe is describing his days as a smuggler sounded far more interesting than the movie I was watching.

Yet we know if they were to make a prequel of it, it'd suck.

It's silly but entertaining and then does directly tie into the plot of when they're stuck on the Yavin Moon and the other pilot doesn't know how to fly the ship.

Gosh, remember when in the films they established a character isn't a pilot and can't fly as a plot point. Then a few days later in the timeline they pilot a ship?
