no spoilers please, but does anyone know if the express line for MU skips iconic/important scenes in the queue? my current plan is to run to ministry in the morning (if its not on VQ 😵‍💫) or DK, and then head to monsters afterward. however, if im gonna miss really cool stuff in there, i might have to convince my party to run to that instead!! i dont mind missing small things, but people are saying the preshow is really awesome so i dont wanna miss that haha

I had Express on Monday and we saw the two key scenes you don’t want to miss in the queue. I would also encourage you to linger after the doors open in the main preshow for a little ‘wave’ from a key character.

elaborating on this, what rides at epic have single rider, and do any of them skip key parts of the queue?

Like I said on the other thread, going on Thursday! My logistical questions are:

A. Where on the app do I find the MoM Virtual Queue page?

B. Are there pressed coins / token machines?

C. Which rides have mandatory lockers? Are they all in the queue like Velocicoaster?

D. At the other parks, we normally skip bringing our water bottles because of the lockers, but I've seen that Epic has larger lockers, so I am considering it. So where are the most convenient drink refill stations (I saw a comment that there are more of these than at the other 2 parks).

Would love anyone’s suggestions on which rides to prioritize during previews. Do we just pick a land and hope for the best? Not a hotel guest and don’t have Express.

Our Epic day is tomorrow, so I’ve been watching the app the last two days. Most rides after lunch are <30, with many being only 10-15. The big exception is Donkey Kong, but it has even been like 30 in the evening. From early entry opening through lunch the other Nintendo rides and Winged gliders could be 45. Even Stardust Racers was like 25, but was down most of yesterday so when it did open it was 150 minutes because it was probably the only thing people hadn’t done, and everyone rushed there once it opened.

The preview stress seems more about operations than line waits. Rides being delayed. And that dang VQ for Ministry of Magic. We are staying at Stella Nova, so our plan is to do Donkey Kong at opening, and then not sure what else we might get done before we need to work on that VQ. head to Monsters at regular opening. Explore, eat, and then after lunch catch the 2 shows, and then spend the rest of the day / evening hitting the rides hard. I’m sure we’ll do other rides earlier and between things, but focusing on shorter waits.

This weekend I will try and post a review, once I’m back at my Dad’s house.

Prioritize Monsters and snag a Virtual Line in the morning. They aren't dropped at the exact posted time (sometimes a few mins before or after) so keep trying!

I wouldn't worry about waits, they are manageable as capacity is significantly limited. But I do have a few tips:
  • If you have EPA, prioritize Mine Cart Madness.
  • Try to hit Monsters Unchained first in the morning as soon as EPA ends (if you're able to get out of the DK queue/ride by then). Show quality for Monsters dramatically decreases over the course of the day, so prioritize it in the morning.
  • I'd also prioritize the two shows as they unfortunately run the risk of being cancelled

Right now the longest wait in the park is showing as 15 minutes for Donkey Kong. Everything else is shorter. Which sounds ridiculous and heavenly. I hope it is like that tomorrow.

ETA, I suppose the Toothless M&G is another thing to prioritize and manage.

From what I have seen on Youtube, the signs for the "Super Mushroom Drink Bottle" and "1-Up Mushroom Drink Bottle" state that they include all day refills, and next day refills available at any Freestyle location at regular menu price.

What does this mean?

I am aware that there are two different refillable mug options at Universal so far:
  • Coke Freestyle - buy cup, free refills from Freestyle machines and some other locations all day, can reactivate for additional days at a cheaper price.
  • Universal Character Mugs - buy cup, may come with one free refill for that day, cheap refills from restaurants all day, can bring back.
Do the Mushroom Drink Bottles fall into either of these categories? Or are they their own separate category?

From the sign, it looks as though they may operate as Coke Freestyle cups on Day 1 (although I'm not sure if they work at Coke Freestyle machines, or just restaurants), but I don't know if the future days operates differently to the Coke Freestyle option - by regular menu price, do they just mean the reactivation cost, or is it the refill cost from the Universal Character Mug option?

I'm aware that they operate differently at Universal Hollywood (they only cost $20 and they operate like the Universal Character Mugs), which makes trying to find Epic specific information more difficult, as most information online is for Hollywood or Japan.

EDIT: They show up under Coke Freestyle on the Toadstool Cafe Menu according to Youtube, so I am assuming that they work like Coke Freestyle cups.

People are saying on Youtube that you can't buy the Mushroom Bowl or Bowser Plate (and I am assuming the kids plates and the set of 3 plates) at Toadstool Cafe - is this confirmed to be the case and when do we think that this will change?

Check ebay to see who stole them?

I never came back to update this with answers we discovered.

A. Moot point now.

B. Didn't see any, but still curious now that the park is open.

C. I was very pleased to find that only 3 rides have lockers, and they are all in the queue. Stardust Racers is the only ride with metal detection. Monsters Unleashed, and Hiccup's Winged Gliders you need to store anything larger than a small crossbody. I have a slightly larger one which I use with no problems at the other two parks. We asked at Hiccup's and the TM asked another TM and said, it would be too big, but they might adjust later. The lockers are big enough to hold my water bottle standing up. So it would be possible to hit those rides early in the day, and then buy stuff and not have to worry about fitting it in a locker with whatever else you might be carrying.

D. Any bathroom, lots in the queue, Freestyle machiens. It's great!
