I mean, he works there…
OK, everyone here says I'm a shill.

For the first 9 years I posted here, I was a photographer for News13. Interviewed Presidents, covered the last shuttle launch and several cool theme park openings. Interviewed Gov. Voldemort at the opening of Diagon Alley.

I took a gap year, after getting spit on at Trump rallies and spending 17 hours in front of the Pulse night club the night things went south.

I spent a year working maintenance at a stunning throughout breed farm in Ocala.

It was really hard work, and very cathartic.

Somehow ended up on the opening team for Dockside in 2020.

2020, no bueno.

I remember you from IOACentral days days. And dangit. I DISAGREED with you big time then, and it was just that.
But I never took you for a shill. You were pretty harsh for my memory, and also, you had an epic stache and hat avatar photo. So your Ocala career stint has that lining up in my head.
You liking things a lot should not have you a shill.

Also we're a little upset because people were saying for years that this park would have Disney shaking and every Disney announcement was met with Universal fans saying "this is your response to Epic?" so yeah, a few years of that will leave a sour taste when basic theme park planning is overlooked.

You only have yourself to blame if you let the hype upset you. If you're going to offer fair criticism of the park, you're welcome to do so, but don't be a Negative Nancy just because he said, she said. Those people -- many of whom probably weren't even actual Universal fans -- didn't work on the park.

And yet, I say there are some spectacularly bad sightlines, that break every rule in the book.

And I agree with Universal Creative, in that it is internet fodder at it's best.

I don't care who built what, Vegas resorts have amenities and features you will not find anywhere at Disney. That's a fact.
Because Disney hotel's suck at being 'deluxe'. I don't understand why you keep trying to compare to Disney as if they are the only standard that counts. The Hotel world does not revolve around Disney. Nor is Disney even the nicest hotels in Orlando.

I honestly have no idea what you even mean by this.
It's exactly what it says... people who don't know what they don't know.

You're grasping at straws. No one in Orlando is going to cater specifically to your adult desires the same way Vegas does, because they aren't trying to. These destinations have two different intents.
I'm sorry you can't understand that 'family' doesn't mean 'adults don't matter'. A hotel is a hotel.. a hotel trying to be a destination and charging premium prices has expectations. Vegas is just one place that actually acknowledges that.. it's not the only one... but apparently you can only think in terms of Disney hotels.

Now you're pulling the "I'm special because I travel" card. Well you're not. You can travel the globe twenty times over, it won't change the fact that you have no personal experience with this particular hotel.
I can't help your inability to digest information - others can do just fine. Meanwhile, you have no experience with it either, so by your own logic you should stop acting like you know what it is.

It's not all stereotyping. There is many that don't like thrills. This is the first site I have seen talking so much about motion sickness for rides.
Personally I think the only ride that will cause motion sickness is monsters unchained. Honestly universal studios is worse in this regard.

Who said I come to chill means I have to eat at only that resteraunt mid park day? I need to get to my room and back to the park with ease after my kids and wife hate heat and humidity, and little wait to jump back in.
Well you said you want to "Getting to leave the most crowded theme park experience kf the decade to a mid day chill with my family" - There is only so many places you can goto do that in this property. If now you say that's just your hotel room.. I already spoke to that. No one is competing with you for your room :)

But thanks for trying to question what value I get out of it.
500 rooms are not likely at full ocupancy qhuh means most of the time this thing is going to have less than 2,000 people in it.
What? You challenge me, and then somehow I'm questioning your value? Enough with that non-sense.

Why do you care how many people are in the building? You keep bringing this up as if it's some big factor... you just said you care about going to your room. Hotels twice this size do not have a big issue with this.. Places like the GCH for instance are nearly twice as big and they are fine. But know what they do have? Multiple restaurants... multiple pools... different levels of experience.. places to get away.

Glad you just want a room to go hide in and willing to pay over 600/night to do so.. your freedom. Doesn't change anything said about the property.

You made the comparison by claiming Vegas copied Disney. I merely followed your lead.

If "a hotel is a hotel," what are we even discussing? You continue to conflate different types of destinations and what they typically offer. Orlando isn't as flashy as Vegas and it probably never will be, because they cater to different audiences with different expectations. No, just because there are adults in a family, it doesn't make them the same audience as Vegas's target demographic. You're trying to make this much more complicated than it actually is.

I can't help your inability to digest information - others can do just fine. Meanwhile, you have no experience with it either, so by your own logic you should stop acting like you know what it is.
BS gives me indigestion. I can't help it. But let the record show that I've never tried offering sweeping criticism of a hotel I've never even stepped foot in. I've only commented on its exterior.

And the pool, resteraunt, grab and go, seating g areas will all habe less than 500 people divided. Don't make it sound like high school. It is not just the room that.
I bring it up because I saw your complaint following my talk about it and you I believe stated it seems crowded and noisy with only one resteraunt. Mid day, which is what I referenced is not going to have a majority of guests present.

You gotta see the market perspective here while you say enough with that nonesense. You have a hotel room with its own turnstile to a theme park. Where do you think the people who stay there are going to be spending most of their time are going to be and where does Uni want people spending most of their time when there is a hotel hugging that property?

I challenge you? Do you read what you just wrote?
This hotel's main sell it is the most convenient hotel park access ever built. Yes, even more than the amazing Mira Costa convienience wise.(I would count Phantasialand but those are not that accessible and limited.

Majority of guests? No - will it still be busy? I think so.. same way all the other properties still have crowds.. for the same reason you are looking to get away. And why I said, lets see how your stay goes...

I think you need a refresher of what was already said.
No way I'm paying $600+/night just to be next to the park.
I find it very disappointing they didn't build a premium product to go along with the premium location.

I already acknowledged the proximity and why it's significant. What I commented on was the hotel itself and what they are charging for.. and what you even describe as 'boutique'.

Even if you feel the price is justified due to the location - it doesn't change the hotel amenities and their weakness compared to other premium experiences.

They are tracking the prices of this hotel right with the other lowes premium hotels at USO... without the express pass, and even without a lot of the amenities compared to the other lowes properties. Trade express pass for access? maybe.. Trade the hotel experience itself AND express pass and try to still pass it off as a 'grand hotel'?? Nah.. I'm calling that as I see it. Overpriced.
