I'm glad this ride is getting updates (that we didn't even know were coming). Tomorrowland overall needs some love. Good start. They're refurbing Astro Orbiter right now. Hopefully, they'll take Space Mountain down for needed work after BTMRR re-opens. Now do something with the Stitch space. Maybe they'll have a good excuse to bring him back after the release of the live action movie.
Xenomorph Encounter.... do it.... I need my cute and adorable alien in a circular theater again... I need trashy merch of an Xenomorph in Mickey ear hats eating a dole whip.... I need to look at a cool AA of the coolest creature design ever....

Space probably needs some heavy duty work. I THINK, of I'm remembering correctly from the 2009 refresh, that they also have to take PeopleMover down while refreshing Space. So that one probably will need some more time/planning. PeopleMover's ramp was made by a company no longer in business, so they need a better solution there to fix it because it keeps breaking. Space probably also needs a full retrack and could do with upgrades. But those will cost more money, and they need to get through some of these other projects before they can start spending money there.

I recall reading Stitch backs up to Cosmic Ray's kitchen, so they're fairly limited in what they can do back there due to spacing constraints. I think it's probably more likely that they'd take down the Speedway for a future project, especially since they've given no indication of changing the cars to electric like they did for DL. So it seems a bit more likely that they'll use the space from Stitch for something like a meet and greet. They've also used that space as a rain shelter, which they definitely need more of in Florida. That's the one thing I think is great about the reopened spaces in Epcot...plenty of rain shelters.

Speaking of DL...that Tomorrowland is worse from an aesthetic perspective than MK's. They need to go help that one out first; it looks like a graveyard of things past. The old PeopleMover tracks just hanging out, the Carousel of Progress theater that's now the Star Wars Launch Bay and a DVC lounge...even Space Mountain 's exterior somehow looks brownish instead of the pristine white of WDW's.

PeopleMover tracks *sigh* The grey tacks are for the monorail, brown is PeopleMover

Don't even know what's happening here...Space Mountain is somewhere back there and they managed to block the view of that gorgeous building...for this...and that's the old COP building on the left there.

And their Astro Orbitor isn't on top of the building, so they put...this...

They call it Sorrowland over there. I mean, it's like there's the rest of the park, which is gorgeous and meticulously maintained...and then there's Tomorrowland. They really need to just shut most of it down and start over. At least WDW's just needs more rides. I enjoy going over there, hanging out, getting my Joffrey's, having my quiet spot over there, riding PeopleMover...DL's I go in, ride Space and Buzz and leave as quickly as possible. It's basically like what Dinoland was compared to the rest of AK.
I'll be in DLR in May so will be interesting to compare WDW (which I'll be in just prior to flying out to Anaheim for DLR).

Dinoland is (for future reference was) much better than this.
Yeah, except for Primeval Whirl. And whatever the heck was happening at Chester and Hester's. Boneyard and Dinosaur, yes, although I LOVE Indiana Jones at DL. You have no idea how excited I am for Indy at AK.

There are DL purists who will try to defend DL's Tomorrowland over WDW's and I'm like, if we're talking about the attractions...maybe, although Star Tours exists at DHS (and has a larger capacity there) and Space Mountain is different at DL, not necessarily better. Other than that...no. Especially not with Buzz in WDW being upgraded now.

Some will also argue the Monorail and the Finding Nemo subs. The Monorail unfortunately was from the cheap Eisner era and could use a cabin refresh. Sadly, although WDW's monorails need replacing, the cabin interiors were better made instead of cheap plastic. DL's monorails show some sad wear a tear.

WDW's I think unfortunately will get replaced only when maintenance becomes more expensive than replacing/upgrading the system would be, but the cabins themselves have been better maintained, which is sad. And don't even get me started on the use of the horns on the monorails at DL...did you know monorails have horns? I did not until going to DL, and needless to say, it freaked me out when I heard them. And they still startle me; I hate the noise of them.

And the Finding Nemo subs in DL...I hate those things and think there's a special place in hell for them. 🤣

Then you look up at the Matterhorn with it's big gaping hole in the middle to remind you that the long gone Skyway used to travel though there 😅

Yeah dinorama aside I’m a Dinoland apologist too. I’ve never been to Disneyland but the submarines seem like something cool and unique we don’t have in Florida.

I'd rather this than Florida getting Wreck-It-Ralph.

Then build something next to it.

This is - believe it or not - a positive. Keeping/rehabbing older rides is a must. All new things should be adds…

…you know…cause Bob lied about crowds last week as his stock smelled like last weeks fish

The Press Release said nothing about fixing the ceiling mold.

Fingers crossed!!
…that’s been there since Roy…so it’s now officially part of the Disney archives

I agree, Tomorrowland is ripe for expansion and I think that, if IPs are a requirement, they have enough decently popular sci-fi IPs they can put in there that can lend themselves extremely well to a good attraction. I'm just extremely happy Buzz is staying versus forcing the Wreck it Ralph circle into a square hole.

I'll be in DLR in May so will be interesting to compare WDW (which I'll be in just prior to flying out Anaheim for DLR).
I did that last year. I went to WDW with my parents but had to work most of the time (I work remote) in September. And then I went to DL/SoCal on a solo trip for an actual vacation in October. And then I was back in WDW in January. I did the reverse when I graduated college. Took a long vacation and started in SoCal, then went directly to WDW.

Sometimes, you're like "What is this?" after being on the opposite coast. I do that when entering DL (drives me up a wall) and then in Tomorrowland. And also with the castle, lol. It's so short. 😆 And then in WDW when I go on Pirates. 🤣

Actually last time in WDW, most of the time I was in MK, I was like "this isn't DL and I don't like it" and I spent most of my time in the other parks. Especially because of the food; DL's food is SOOO much better than MK's (but don't go into Tomorrowland for food either, lol, go literally anyplace else). And then in DCA, I was like "this isn't DHS and I don't like it." 🤣 DCA's entry and DHS's entry are very similar, but DHS has an edge with the approach to the Chinese theater, and then the approach to ToT. Plus I dislike the smaller fair-type attractions at DCA. Another cheap remnant of the Eisner era. I spend time at Avengers Campus, at Cars Land, and then I'm like...yeah I'm done, time to go back to the other park. 😆 QS food is better at DCA than DHS, but not better than Epcot and AK. I like the TS places at DHS better than DCA. I go to the resorts, DL, and DTD for TS restaurants over DCA.

Funny how it was opposite at WDW, like DL spoiled me for MK, and then the other parks at WDW spoiled me for DCA. Oh, and Indiana Jones...I was on that at least once a day, and then came back to WDW to ride Dinosaur and was like "what is this?" 😆

The lack of Joffrey's bothers me at DL too. I'm like, y'all are missing out. 🤣

Oh, and attraction photos are free at DL, so make sure you grab those.

Side note: I went to Knott's Berry Farm while I was out there, which is twenty minutes away. I was super impressed. Not sure what your plans are, but I highly recommend that park too.

We had 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which closed before I was born. According to my parents, Finding Nemo subs suffers the same issue with being slow to load and taking forever.

I'm claustrophobic, and somehow, I can handle Mission Space as long as I'm with a family member or friend, but Finding Nemo subs is a nope for me. I think it's because you're so packed in near other people and it takes longer. Which is why I say there's a special place in hell for it. 🤣

Actually, we did. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Pretty much the same ride but with the Nautilus submarines. It closed in 1994 and eventually was filled in for 7DMT and New Fantasyland.
I’m aware. Unfortunately I never got to experience it myself.

Is there a ride at this park that isn’t “popular”? Wait times shouldn’t be the judge. The fact of the matter is that this ride has never been up to par with the “Disney standard”, and these long overdue updates aren’t going to change that. What the ride needs is a complete overhaul in terms of set design and figures. It looks on par with my local laser tag arena (which isn’t great).

You could do something more elaborate but IMO you would have to add a team element to it and not just everyone out for themselves.

If there was a team element you could have some animatronics that would react to an overall number of hits, allowing them to do more elaborate things without the need to give each player individual feedback all the time.

I think a couple rooms that had elaborate animatronics and team missions would really make this attraction.
