Given current management priorities of extracting maximum revenue, I’d bet on two separate dessert parties.

I was thinking they would keep it to one (with he "before" party getting viewing of security and parade and "after" party getting viewing of the first) ... But significantly increase the price due to the added value

Judging by the deeply basic classic Princess ballroom float that reminds me of the mirror castle, I doubt we're getting anything too "pop" in the music. Unlike Paint The Night, there aren't a lot of characters that would benefit from a thumping beat - and the art style is clearly going towards something with a lot more wind chimes and string orchestras.

Paint the Night also has a princess float, so it doesn’t rule out what the music could sound like. It just depends on the vibe they want for the parade.

Oh, for sure! I got to see it a few times in California and Hong Kong, but... I dunno. The style of the float feels so different than the giant Belle, which I honestly really hated. But fair point. I just feel that MOST of the titles presented in Paint The Night are improved with the heavy bass and bubblegum pop, while MOST of the titles in this one... do not. Not even Coco, in my opinion.

DL also leans into the dance party feel with its nighttime entertainment more than MK. Mix Magic would never come to MK.

I am sure it draws more people to the hub/in front of the castle just due to the projections and stuff whereas Wishes could have (largely) the same experience even if not right there

So at a minimum it his a higher concentration of people

We were considering going July 4th because I found a great deal on a confirmed DVC reservation at the Grand - I’m glad we didn’t pull the trigger because part of the reason we wanted to go was to see Starlight.

Still don't understand why Disney doesn't do Retro After Hours events - could sell a lot of tickets if they had Wishes at MK or Illuminations at Epcot, etc

Any inkling for when it will start? Trying to plan a quick trip and have some flexibility - does first week of August feel safe or could it be even after that?

Honestly, I prefer them not announcing a date until they are very sure they can meet it with a full fledged parade. I would fear if they announce a date too early then they might have to cut corners late in the process to meet the target - and they'd probably never go back to "fix" any deficiencies.

So it's either going to be(my thoughts)before MNSSHP, or Christmas Week 2025, or who knows when!! I'm all for doing Starlight the Right Way but MK shouldn't forget about it either!....
