Canceled Itineraries:
October 20, 2025 – 13-Night Westbound Transatlantic Cruise from Southhampton ending in Port Canaveral
November 2, 2025 – 5-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral
November 7, 2025 – 5-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral
November 12, 2025 – 4-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral

20% is CRAP. Considering people book these years in advance, DCL should be ashamed of itself.

I get your disappointment in the change, but what makes you feel DCL is responsible for the dry-dock facility schedule? I think offering 20% (and I've heard that will stack with a 10% placeholder) is better than what DCL often provides when hurricanes or other issues cause cancellation. Booking for these cruises only opened about 6 months ago and it's 9-10 months advanced notice. Sorry your plans are changed but I don't see how DCL failed on this one.

We are affected too with the October 20th Transatlantic.

It isn't ideal as I had rented out a TON of DVC points to fund the 13 night cruise. We've now had to scramble around to make a new holiday with the same dates.

Now added an outbound flight to Orlando where we are going to do the 5 night Halloween on the high Seas from Fort Lauderdale followed by 8 nights at Universal instead..

New cruise is booked with our 10% placeholder but told I have to contact my TA again on Feb 6th for them to add the 20% discount which apparently isn't guaranteed to stack where it has in the past.

I do have to agree that 20% is naff for the hassle it has caused.

Agreed, we were on it too. Had already booked flights home and accommodation at Universal. 20% is Disney doing the bare minimum. We now have to start again trying to build a trip, we may just do Universal as we want to see Epic Universe and forget doing a Disney cruise.

When similar occurrences (which is clearly been caused by DCL) have happened on other cruise lines such as Royal, they have allowed guests to move their reservation to another cruise at the same price AND give guests a 50% future cruise credit.

Additionally Other cruise lines will offer compensation to guests who have booked nonrefundable airfare. Disney is also not doing that.

Disney is only giving a paltry 20% towards a rebooked cruise or a complete refund. Typically cruise fares are dynamic and the closer you get to the actual cruise the more expensive it will be. So for a family that may want to rebook their cruise for 2025, there is shorter time to the cruise, they will almost assuredly be paying more than they did when they booked their original cruise. The 20% may not even cover the cost difference between the original cruise and the rebooked new one.

In the end the guest gets nothing through absolutely no fault of their own. The only recourse there is is maybe through trip insurance if they purchased it.

Unfortunately the lift and shift days at RCL are over, that was back in the pandemic era.

I had them cancel Panama Canal for 2024 on a similar timeframe and I was offered to sail the new Carib only itinerary. Or change sailings and the "offer" was that I'd not lose the deposit. No real compensation either way.

NCL outright cancelled a Norway cruise on me and I think I got either nothing or 10%. NCL also completely modified my cruise in June so it departs out of Seoul rather than Shanghai and there was zero compensation. The itinerary is completely different. I've also had NCL miss upwards of 3 ports and the compensation for that was 50USD onboard credit. 2 missed ports was nothing.

I think Celebrity does an ok job of taking care of passengers though.

Last year guests of Mariner of the Seas received an option for 100% Refund plus 50% FCC for a 4 month window due to extended dry dock.

This year Brilliance of the Seas had sailings in April canceled due to extended dry dock. This was given with the six month warning and royal offered complete refunds ability to rebook on another cruise and future cruise credit.

Disney Cruise Line is just engaging in awful almost insulting customer service. Basically telling guests we screwed up you don’t like it go pound sand.

Fair enough, I’ve had crummy luck then with my cancellations. Granted they weren’t Drydock but redeployments or conversion to chartered sailings.

NCL has definitely been the worst of the three, not defending DCL by any means. It’s not my preferred line.

I hear you on that. Royal does that a lot, but the notifications are typically more than a year out.

Generally speaking, if it’s less than a year, the cruise lines typically make good with guests to keep them happy.

August for a March sailing, 7 months almost to the day. 😔

But I do recall the internet was pretty upset with the handling on this one (these were the Rhapsody Panama Canal 2024 sailings) and I’m like NCL does this to me every other cruise, at least they did so before final payment. 🤣

I think it's a poor offer from DCL for the cancelled transatlantic especially when they know guests will have already bought a one way flight which really limits their options. It's not like being in Florida and having to move to another DCL ship departing a couple of days earlier or later.
