WDW during a Recession / Economic Downturn

SW will continue to exist in the next 5 years. They have too many valuable assets and dominate so many mid-tier markets that their total demise is highly unlikely. What they will lose are the loyal infrequent travelers that essentially only go to southwest.com or their app to book travel and...

Some WDW hot takes and my take on the WDW vs. DLR debate.

For context, for myself, I consider myself a Disneyland "homer" as I live a 6 hour drive away from Disneyland and a 4 hour flight away from Walt Disney World. That being said, over the past year,, I have been to WDW twice (July 2024 1 day at the MK with my wife and kids and April 2025 for a 3...

Thoughts on whether Disney will add a 3rd theme park in the US (perhaps Midwest/east coast?)

I've been reading on other forums that the UAE parks are more showpieces than commercial successes. Some of the ride POV videos I've seen of some rides at the other UAE parks show almost deserted parks. I'm sure Disney Abu Dhabi will overtake Hong Kong as the least visited Disney park but I'm...

Impressive defunct experiences you've been able to enjoy

I was able to do that sometime in the 1990s. I still remember being in that cab as the monorail turned that bend through Future World at Epcot.

When is Space Mountain scheduled for refurbishment?

I agree that it needs to be refurbished. I don’t think it’s the worst version of the ride though as I prefer it to Disneyland’s by a large margin. I think as soon as Thunder reopens Space needs a refurb or the could do what Disneyland has been doing with the Matterhorn and slowly replace...

Guide to DLR for WDW Veterans!

It's a fun ride. My kids liked it, I didn't mind it. Could it be better? Yes. However, after reading reviews of it I would've thought it was the worst Disney ride ever and it wasn't. Superstar Limo will always win that crown.

Current Crowd Levels & Visitor Origins

I was almost exclusively a Disneyland guy during the era of peak Fastpass. I remember the gates at DCA opening and litereally everyone sprinting to the Radiator Springs Racers Fastpass kiosk and then most of the crowd hopping over to Disneyland to snag Space Mountain. Those were the days.

Current Crowd Levels & Visitor Origins

I don't think it will be significant either. That was the point of my other posts (that might have gotten too political). The truth is most people aren't very hardcore political one way or another and, as long as there are significant enough discounts or incentives, they will continue to...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I rode the MK version for the first time this past Wednesday after having zero expectations. I last was at DL in October and it was only open for previews. After reading the reviews I was expecting to hate the MK version and, instead, I ended up loving it. It's NOT as good as Splash but it's by...

MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I went on the Liberty Belle yesterday for the first time. I loved the experience but I see why it is being eliminated. A lot of the material is a more out of date view of American history that the Disney company is trying to eliminate at the parks. In addition Adventureland, Fantasyland and...

Current Crowd Levels & Visitor Origins

I will try to keep this as non-political as possible. I was at the parks last week and I noticed a wide variety of visitors. Most of the foreign tourists appeared to be from Central and South America but there were sizeable numbers of Europeans (Brits, Swiss, Germans) as well as a sizeable...

Current Crowd Levels & Visitor Origins

There were growing concerns that Disney was getting too expensive. The dining plan change was probably in the works before all of the more recent events.

Which park has better rides - Hollywood Studios or Universal Studios Florida?

Roller coasters usually don't affect me as badly as motion simulators. Plus, I HAD to ride Velocicoaster. It's the rated as #1 rollar coaster in the country according to a lot of sources (most that don't rate it #1 rate Iron Gwazi #1). Velocicoaster lived up to its billing and was a great and...

Which park has better rides - Hollywood Studios or Universal Studios Florida?

I'm in the midst of a 4 day solo trip to Disney / Universal. My first 2 days at Disney were fun and I felt great. Today was Universal day and it was a challenge. I felt like I was going to die on Transformers and skipped Forbidden Journey and The Hulk because I KNEW I would die if I rode them...

Which park has better rides - Hollywood Studios or Universal Studios Florida?

I had a park hopper to USF and IOA and started with USF today (big mistake). I spent half the day feeling like I was going to get sick so that by the time I got to IOA I simply did Hagrid's and Velocicoaster and not much else. DHS has a much more balanced (and better) attraction lineup these...
