I think Disney will be okay without your forgiveness. ;)

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

yeah, the smarter (but costlier) move would have been to extend the building facades up to near the ride entrance and thereby enclose the view. Probably will just use trees (which won't be effective). And I guess they really are going to just reroute that access road behind the show...

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Unfortunately, the model makes the ride seem like a fairly short track length. Yes, speed will affect it, but I suspect it will be a "zippier" ride, given the effect they want to create. I worry it's ride length will be closer to Tron than Guardians, much less Everest of Big Thunder ride time.

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Ride capacity (hourly throughput) has nothing to do with ride length: it's a function of ride vehicle capacity X dispatch time. Some of Disney's shortest rides have the worst capacity (principally because of small vehicles): 7Dwarves, Frozen, Slinky, Peter Pan, etc. Some of their longest...

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

okay, thanks. Then, assuming a good chunk of the queue for the new Villains dark ride will be indoors as well, the Villains ride will still be substantially smaller (but that's not much of a criticism given the enormity of the Shanghai ride.)

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I don't think that's right? Isn't the entire building almost 150,000 sq. ft.? The queue doesn't take up that proportion?

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I'll just echo the comments above: the Shanghai system is fantastic, both from an operational standpoint (massive capacity) and flexibility to create great visuals/ experience and even a heightened sense of falling/ rising. My only mild concern is whether a boat ride works in the particular...

MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

What keeps my head in my hands are these horrible phrases concerning the coaster: "like slinky dog dash" and "now a secondary attraction." An extensive, well-themed, mountain-based coaster winding around the land and twisted thorns looked (and seemed) great. Something akin to Hagrid's in...

AK really does look stunning in these videos. And so does Epcot. unfortunately, it sorta demonstrates how "unpretty" Hollywood studios is.

MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

I suspect Josh read my incessant posts about how all the land clearing beyond the RR track must mean they will put show buidings /coaster back there and preserve the old rivers area for the main shopping / walking area, and he finally relented, seeing how much sense I was making .... In...

DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

yeah, I never subscribed to the view that all screens are necessarily bad or cheap. There's a right place for newer technology -- and Guardians got it right. (So did Shanghai Pirates, albeit with many more practical effects, which you can do with a boat ride, but much less so on a moving...

DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Fair point on theming, especially the first half of the ride (the pre-launch sequence). But the "coaster" part of Revenge is mostly a dark room until the fake ending -- the entire coaster portion of Guardians is full of dazzling effects, screens or not. It's a completely immersive experience...

DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

We will agree to disagree, then. Cosmic Rewind feels much more than a mid-level Universal Studios ride (I'm trying to even consider with rollercoaster at Universal you think surpasses it in theming and storytelling.... the only possible candidate could be Hagrids? Velocicoaster). Guardians...
