I was just watching the original Imagination ride again. I was so lucky to have been able to ride it every year between 1991ish to its closure. (whenever I was old enough to ride it and understand it). That ride was so profound and so timeless It felt like a real Disney storybook adventure...
Yes they plussed many rides but in ways that have only increased their ability to stand in a world of more modern attractions. The Update done in the 80s even made the ones doing it cringe a bit but it turned out creating something more immersive and classy than the 50s tents that are now out of...
Off Topic for a sec: Isn't the new one they are planning to make going to have a dangerous part? That's what they said right? I wonder if it's a drop?
If not it would be the opposite of Splash Bayou Adventure, a drop ride with no drama or conflict (or plot) vs a non drop ride with lots of drama...
My thought is this means a transformation into the new ride is up in the air or far away. I mean why bother? This just makes me more annoyed that my last rides on splash mountain were full of broken elements and dim lighting. (couldn't even see B'rer Roadrunner)
I noticed that there are some REALLY good characters out there. Very lively and entertaining.
MY absolute favorite though has to be Peter Pan and Tinkerbell (and Wendy). Their dynamic especially at Disneyland is hilarious!
Years ago I dressed up as a pirate and joined Wendy and my brother in...
As long as they don't touch the walt stuff. Keep the core park in tact that's the key. If they mess it up, it will be unfixable because It will never be walt's park again
So basically stay the heck outta fantasyland and frontierland and adventureland etc
Maybe we can make it into a memorial for all the victims of Iger's destruction, like Splash Mountain etc. It seems disneyworld's very spirit that once pulled me in with a magic uncomparable is being wittled away at so it will be nice if that was displayed in a future version of body wars...
It's like if they replaced It's a small world with Moana's Boatride Adventure. and the song was just about Trusting your instincts or some vague concept. They may improve the animatronics.....but what's left? what do we have now? nothing really. But I guess in this version I'd expect them to put...
I'm just pre-empting it in case they ever try, Im paranoid now! You know. That's what happens when they start taking out staples. You wonder if anything is sacred.
IT wasn't that different in the 90s. I was a tomboy and I would play with the boys and I remember pretending to be peter pan a few times, but also I made up this thing where we were in a tribe and we were hunting the boys and spying on them and then messed up all their stuff. I guess I invented...
At least they are seemingly saying BTM will be staying. I mean it's too iconic. It'd be like removing space mountain or spla..... uhhh.... Well It'd be like removing space Mountain... You know the ride every kid talks about
THIS! They had an obligation to fill a void they left by removing what was possibly the greatest Disney ride ever made (IMO your mileage may vary) But to the very least it was a very good ride. Instead they hastily jammed a nonsense story with flashy lights and a couple of good animatronics here...
TRUE! I remember someone called him the shadow man and he said "MY NAME IS DR? FACILLIER!" it was great. This was near the ROA in front of Pirates. The weird thing is that they sing "dig a little Deeper" and you're going up...so its not deeper. It makes NO SENSE
