With rides that have separate loading and unloading, they always have to have someone bring my wheelchair around. I know that is extra work for the CMs. They work like crazy at Nemo. :-) Maybe a couple of the new rides at Hollywood Studios will load a wheelchair in the ride vehicle. I won't...
I found this description and photos of the Na'vi River Journey transfer.

Looks pretty hard for me. Maybe it's the best they can do. I have seen the pictures of the FOP transfer device in a couple of places and it seems doable. Kind of...
Hmm. steps won't cut it. But thanks for your quick response. I'm hoping a wheelchair user will eventually give a first hand report. I know people have had some problem with the length of the ride, but I would love to experience it.
I have a question about accessibility. I have heard that this ride has some sort of device to help wheelchair users transfer to the boat. Has anyone done this or seen someone transfer to the boat from a wheelchair? Starting to plan a trip and am trying to figure out it the device is a kind I...
Thanks for the quick response. Living with the land, small world, rio del tiempo, and jungle cruise you stay in your wheelchair. No transfer. Pirates and frozen do not have accommodations for transfer. Since you have to transfer for this ride and it is newer with no drops, I was thinking they...
Still looking for information about any accommodations for people who cannot step down into the boat, Anyone aware of whether or not this ride has any accommodations for transfer from wheelchairs?
So those like my Mom who are afraid of heights (real heights not virtual) might not be affected. The seat stays on a base and just moves, right? She'll be thrilled if that is how it works.
I looked at a video of unloading. Won't work for me if I have to step up out of the boat. I was imagining a boat like living with the land or small world where a wheelchair could load rather than like Frozen that is not even possible for a transfer. Luckily there looks to be a whole lot of other...
It is my understanding that the river ride is not accessible for wheelchair users. To those of you who have ridden it - Is there is drop or something that prevents wheelchairs from being loaded? Thought I might be able to take advantage of a slow, family friendly ride. :-)
Thanks for the quick reply. Disney's posted "must be ambulatory" rides has People Mover as well as Tom Sawyer, Treehouse and Peter Pan. Good to hear that MIckey can load a chair. Not complaining. Transferring gets tiring.
Any chance the People Mover might be made wheelchair accessible say with an elevator? I've really missed that relaxing ride. Haven't done it since I could be carried up the escalator - maybe about 10-12. So at least 20 some years.
Looking to balance out some lost rides when Ellen goes roller...
