I'd think if "Tomorrowland" is the theme, then unnatural should be what they're going for. Something not of this world. Something from a future time. Instead, everyone here seems to want a New Mexico Office Park/Plaza.
There's also the theory that Edwards delivered exactly what he was asked to deliver only Lucasfilm/Disney changed their mind about what kind of movie they wanted after the fact.
I'm hoping he gets to work in the galaxy again. Perhaps with the Cassian Disney+ show.
I've always heard Gareth remained heavily involved in post production even if he didn't work on the bulk of the reshoots.
But the Vader scene came after all of that. Quite close to release actually, and I've always heard that it was Gareth who handled it. I believe it was the editor who actually came up with the idea and Kennedy approved it.
I once thought as you do. Now I believe "fans" just complain about how things aren't going the way they thought they would, call for creators to have their creations pulled from their hands, and offer up "better" ideas that are usually worse or at least impractical. This is far from a Disney...
