News Disney CFO Hugh Johnston Says Dynamic Pricing Is Coming to the Parks

I don't expect this change to drastically alter our workflow, but... yeesh. We want them to make the product more approachable and more enjoyable. This... isn't that.

News Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2025 Earnings Results Webcast

I'm not sure we'll ever see a legacy DME-like system again, but value-adds like the baggage handling test could go along way. And, DisneyNittany, I get it. Shameful that enforcement expected guidelines to be followed. 🍻

Resort Airline Check In Service testing a return

For our clients at least, this aligns with what we've seen since the death of MME: Our Value guests are much more likely to use Mears or a rideshare to get to their resort hotel, which can create the highest burden to collect and schlepp your bags from claim to your ride. Our Deluxe guests...

News Disney’s Fiscal Full Year and Q4 2025 Earnings Results Webcast

This mirrors exactly what we've been seeing on the business end of things- A narrowed product appeal and a customer pool stripped of diversity. Surely the mouse-as-gospel, upper-middle-class families who swipe the credit card for whatever Disney is charging will never get squeezed to hard...

News PSA: Flights reduced by 10%; Delays ongoing amid Airport staffing shortages

It did feel pretty dystopian waiting for confirmation from SW that our flight tomorrow wasn't impacted, but as of now we're good to go. I'm a little more concerned about our MCO-CMH return on Sunday than I am getting down there.

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

They'll figure it out, they always do. The parks aren't shuttering or being spun off. The path between now and then is where my concern lies, and how much they cede.

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

I'll add one last bit: The product isn't bad. It's not at its best, but it isn't bad in today marketplace. I've been thinking about my current nearly-41-year-old-self in this position when EPCOT opened, when MGM opened, when the major hotel expansions opened, when DAK opened... plenty of...

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

Per cap spending increases will only offset a declining bodycount for so long. The model of WDW that we've known for the past 30 years is fundamentally incompatible with a shrinking customer base. Their focus on "short return visits" playing off of FOMO with special parties and cupcakes gave...

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

I'm extrapolating, but based on experience I'm confident most of these folks would book if they could. American CC debt is at $1.21 trillion, more people are carrying balances, and consumer cards classified as "in distress" hit a 12-year high earlier this year. It's tougher for a lot of people...

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

One quick bit of clarity from what we are and aren't hearing on our end- We *are not* hearing from established clients or new leads that the product is too expensive, at least any more than we have previously in our 15ish years of doing this. We *are* hearing from folks that they don't have...

DAK “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

The marquee looks great! The element carving / beveling and "paws and feet" stylization matches the rest of the Discovery Island creative package perfectly. It's design that's both new and fitting for the area. Refreshing.

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

I'm always around, and have been keeping up on this one. In our little corner of the business, a few clear trends have emerged: - Seniors who are well-invested and living comfortably are keeping the cruise lines happy. Cruising will almost certainly be the largest part of our business this...

    October 2025 Price Increases

November and December availability at Coronado Springs, Yacht Club, Beach Club, and AKL have recently been added to Hotwire at rack rate. If you're feeling impulsive, watch for these listings to start matching up with their unidentified "Hot Rate" offerings. It's pretty easy to line up the...

MK All-New Nighttime Parade Disney Starlight Set to Debut at Magic Kingdom in 2025

In a parade so lacking in characters, it's definitely an interesting choice to lock 2 precious bodies up in a fairy's sometimes-translucent backside. And I'm hoping that at least some of the route lighting improvements are yet to be switched on. The fixtures speced were... robust.
