Yet Ne Zha grossed over $700 million for an original animated IP. There is Boonie Bears that grossed over a billion. Granted these are Chinese productions. We can add The Super Mario Brothers movie to the list.

Yet there has been plenty of examples where it is true. Just not for Disney. (outside of Inside Out 2 and Zootopia 2)

Remember the days when that was just a given? They used to be blockbusters. Now we are happy if they make at least a dollar in profit.

I can see the small media companies start to make headway too. Distribution channels are starting to open up. Iron Lung was the first of that.

So with Mario Galaxy coming out April 1st, will Hoppers break even?

I saw Kiki's Delivery Service in 4k in the theater. It's one of the better Studio Ghibli movies from the late 80s. Great animation and good story. Fans of Disney animation would feel right at home.

I'm a fan of the book and I really enjoyed the movie. I thought Rocky was done very well. He wasn't annoying like Grogu has become. It is a little long but it was good scifi. Ryan Gosling played it with a lot of heart and humor. If you liked the Martian, you'll like this.

I can't summarize Encanto. I guess it just didn't hold my attention. Weird since that is the last Disney/Pixar movie to win Best Animated movie.

I love watching the Oscars but I away fast forward pass the acceptance speeches. They are too political. The look back at who died and the inside look at movies being made is the best part. Notice how Disney/Pixar hasn't won a Best Animated movie since 2021's Encanto.

I would put Flow for 2024 release. It's far better and technologically superior to the rehashed Inside Out 2. It won Best Animated movie of 2024.

It's a little sad that Disney or Pixar haven't won Best Animated movie since 2021's Encanto. Looking at this list, it was almost like clockwork that either one would take that award.

We are better off animated.
