I do not think is was a price gouge as it is unrealistic expectations on the part of corporations. Corporations mistook margin increases as some organizational brilliance on their part rather than a market correction beyond theor control.

The problem is companies chasing the margins from the several quarters post pandemic. Raw materials were still hedged and inflation was roaring. Normal margin was 15% then "organically " rose to 23%. After inflation came full circle and hit the raw materials, margins are back to 15%. But...
