Your response implies that any of this is surprising and honestly considering some of the ideas that were being bandied about seems the least criminal of all the options they had.

I think you might be off base, people who bought Genie passes are going to crowd all those rides you enjoy because they either A: bought their way through the rest of Genie pass rides or B: can't afford them/passes are gone/pick a reason.

Let's be realistic, the mouse has always been about profit. They've just been better at hiding it.

It's gotten popular with concert tickets. It's pretty rough IMO. But it's also not unheard of when it comes to ticketing.

I think people are conflating things. People will absolutely pay, that's why tables/bottles in nightclubs works. There's always a subset of people who will pay through the nose for access. Now will it harm their reputation in the market and cede ground to places like Uni? Yes. But it won't...
