I assume some suit came across market research indicating that tourists say they want health-conscious food options, and misguidedly decreed that a Cajun restaurant will be more profitable with "coastal [in other words, California] grill" branding. Interestingly, the words "Coastal Grill" are...

Haha I'm envious, given how much I loved it that one time as a kid. We are fortunate to have grown up during a fantastic era for theme/amusement parks! I was lucky to experience Animal Kingdom, Islands of Adventure, Millennium Force, etc. when they were more or less brand new. Eisner stuff...

Darn, I missed my chance to try the lamb burger and the paella. I'm sure gumbo and banana's foster are still on the menu at Ralph Brennan's "Coastal Grill," but the redesign makes me feel dead inside.

I enjoyed my meal at Black Tap. My CrazyShake, however, was kind of a bummer. Is the cake always pretty stale? It was a fun novelty but wasn't actually all that delicious. Could've been an off day.

Never ate at TJ's. The very existence of this restaurant is puzzling to me, from the outdated architecture to the unseemliness of serving (what everyone says is) bland and overpriced Mexican food in southern California. Earl is fine. Never understood the hype, but it's not bad. Ate there...

Maybe I'm blanking, but is there any legitimately good food at Downtown Disney? My enjoyment of these restaurants (when I go to them, which is rare) almost entirely comes from the ambiance. And I'm okay with that; it's a theme park-adjacent place and I grade on a curve. Centrico looks...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I'm fortunate to live 30 miles from Disneyland, so I will experiencing Tiana spoiler-free. That said, it's going to be difficult to avoid spoilers during the period between the Orlando and Anaheim openings. Might need to take a break from Disney theme park online stuff for a bit.

Disneyland Resort's most important day since the opening of DCA

It’s rare that I side with a massive corporation over concerned citizens, but… these people need to chill out.

Do you think Disney would ever bring back the original Star Tours for a limited time promotion?

Haha I mean, I’d be down for any of this, purely for the novelty of experiencing the original film again. But I’m not sure the general public would understand what’s happening, or if such an overlay would pass WDI’s quality control.

I’d love this. The original film is so charming. But yeah, not sure how they could navigate R-3X.

Thank you for the link; this was a fantastic read. P2D's essays are a delight. I have a new appreciation for Riverbelle Terrace as "the hardest-working transitional spot in Disneyland."

“Amazing!!!” might be a bit much, but honestly Centrico does look really nice. Contemporary without being soulless. Aesthetically it’s an improvement over Uva Bar.

Haha, I’ll have to search for photos of those payphones. Honestly this go-away-green is pretty low on my list of Tomorrowland grievances. Might be among my favorite buildings in the land, actually.

BTMRR’s final lift TNT effect has been shut off intentionally

You’re right, I forgot about the orange. No, the colored lighting wasn’t functional today. However, the projections and fog were fully working. In my opinion the finale is still pretty solid in this B mode of sorts. Much better than when the fog is missing entirely.
