But it changes the math drastically. At $1/film a user might easily cost more than their subscription earns.
At a few cent an hour, that's practically impossible.
You're probably dramatically overestimating the cost of delivery. There's no way the majority of their streams are in 4k. If I had to guess, it's probably a fairly small chunk.
100GB is also a very heavy estimate. Between compression and only sending the audio streams you're actually listening...
Fun anecdote for the technical folks:
For a year or so (around 2015?) it was crazy. As you'd imagine, the app/website just runs against a REST API. So it's easy enough to trace things out in Fiddler or whatever. One time, I got curious and spent an afternoon playing with it. As it turned out...
Along the same line, I think there's a pretty decent contingent of people that just don't have an interest in that level of planning. They'll ride what they want and eat what's convenient and that's that.
I mean, I've visited the parks more times than I can count. I know the reservation...
Unless you're talking about stuff on a different scale, some specialty use case, or we've got some kinda miscommunication, that sounds... odd.
It's just so rare to even turn these kinds of systems off in the first place unless you're replacing them with something better.
The vast, vast...
I live in the world of big software integrations.
The word 'cannibalized' is used frequently and loosely. It's hard to put a tighter definition on it than "the plan changed". i.e., We started plan X, then plan Y came along and took over.
You can't just copy code around, but the reason is...
Why?
You don't need to change the costumes at all if you don't want to.
You just take all the references to gender out of the handbook.
The 'grey jumpsuits' look isn't gender-neutral. It's just picking a costume that happens to fit within both of the established gender roles.
Everyone told me that when I was growing up.
"How are you gonna be able to get a job with that ink?"
"You can't have facial piercings at a REAL job."
"No one is gonna hire someone with giant holes in their ears."
I thought they were all full of it.
All I had to do was be good at what I did and...
Yeah, I have trouble imagining this area not just becoming the all-purpose 'Star Wars' land as time goes on. It's probably not a coincidence the land is styled in with the dusty, rocky style that is kinda the default for Star Wars instead of one of the more specific and arguably 'cooler' other...
A lot of my friends are in this boat. Admittedly schools are just now opening up, but not much has changed since the end of the prior year.
For about 1/3 of them, one or both parents are working from home which helps. (Though try actually getting a day of work done while simultaneously taking...
I kinda feel like the X-Men just aren't a good fit for the moment.
Heroes are in vogue right now. But the X-Men's whole schtick is that they look like heroes, but they're actually victims. And while the comic addresses a lot of social issues that are very relevant at the moment, it tends to do...
For sure. But a lot of that can be handled by planning for changes. Updating the decor of your space station and putting new haircuts on the animatronics goes a long way. Avoiding pop culture references and such obviously helps.
You can't do it forever but how long does a theme park ride need to...
I dunno.
We always say stuff like this, but is it really that hard to come up with a societal goal that will still be relevant in a 30-50 years?
Things like space colonization, neural interfaces, and moving to a sustainable society have been goals for ages and will continue to be for the...
