Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I was making a general statement about how remarkable it is that we have avoided illness at this crowded theme park that many times. It's much more common to get sick from family, friends, school, work or during prolonged encounters. It's SO interesting to me when people wearing N95 masks get...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I used to think that it's not particularly easy to get sick somewhere like disney. Especially compared to school, daycare, work, social visits, etc. I think that's actually still true for a majority of people most of the time even now. We've been sick maybe 1 out of 10 trips. That's a...

That's a really good step for you. It truly is. Did you stay healthy? We were planning to reduce our mask wearing but the relentless onslaught of people claiming to get covid at Disney sealed it for me. On top of the obvious reasons, we don't want to miss an expensive park day and/or be stuck...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I don't want to think of a teenager or child as doing something wrong for getting sick. It's a reality of life especially at school and the temptation kids have to live normally is natural. We have avoided covid so far and I'm genuinely fearing that our number is up during this trip. We are...

Thanks that's helpful! I would probably use the do not disturb sign too. We are seriously almost never in the room lol. I understand why they do it but it's definitely an awkward thing in these covid times.

With all due respect, covid has been "going around" non-stop since 2020. Not sure what would be unique about a massive theme park that once reported 77k workers. We go for our third post-closure trip soon and I shouldn't be in this thread lol. We plan to wear masks indoors but we know it's...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

We returned from disney a week ago and it was a noticeable lacking of using the sanitizer after rides. I'm talking practically no one. Everyone was using it when we went last summer. I've always been an advocate of general common courtesy which doesn't have to involve sanitizer but at least...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

It's funny how quick we are brigning back things that beg for the spread of every other virus. Free samples!! Lol just kidding. I keep thinking about that scene from Parks and Rec where Andy puts his entire mouth around the spout of a water fountain.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

Not going to lie. That was reassuring to me too. We returned a week ago from Disney and only had one temperature check Friday before they were removed. We also were present on the first day of masks being removed outside. It was strange but fine. We kept ours on in hopes to avoid getting sick in...

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

Thanks. I noticed they weren't enforcing masks in the gondola queue or in the gondolas when we were there a week ago. I didn't know if they would enforce it more now that other people will board together. I didn't see very many people wearing masks in the line or as they boarded.

Sorry if this has been asked. I read that they are now loading more than one party for gondolas. Do they require masks for that? Also, we weren't allowed to take buses from pop century to HS/EP during our trip that we returned from a week ago. We had to take the gondolas. I hope they offer...

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

I think a lot of the problem right now is psychological. Many people developed a dependency on masks especially those with pre-existing anxiety. I've seen people wearing them in their cars, walking around deserted paths, etc. I sympathize with that and resent the media for creating a habit of...

This is what I think too. These local policies refer to their community. People are wearing masks to walk their dogs and that seems to be what these policies seek to remove. Not an international tourist destination where an outdoor crowd can easily mimic an indoor crowd in the right conditions.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

Does orange county release their vaccine data once a week? Or is there a daily tracker website somewhere? I would be shocked if Disney dropped outdoor masks on a dime. Enforcing that would be a nightmare. I get that people want a normal Disney experience soon but I still think July is a better...

News Walt Disney World to End Temperature Checks

It also makes more sense to check temperetures for work settings because you're there all day long. Risk will always be lower when you don't have sustained exposure to the same people. I also tend to think people are usually sick enough to stay home once they reach a fever status. Definitely...
