I can’t see how people continue to say Disney wants to outsource their hotels. Does Disney enjoy operating them? Probably not. But they are raking in the $$$$, day after day, year after year. I don’t see any future where Disney outsources their hotels operations.
They probably don’t but the Gingerbread displays bring in way too much money for Disney to even consider getting rid of one completely. Especially like the one at the Grand.
My personal opinion is that Disney won’t move the Gingerbread House and it will just take a year off from the Grand. This will just redirect more traffic to the other Gingerbread offerings across property.
There's also the component that Disney does not see why they should waste money/resources and real estate on an underutilized plot of land in the most popular theme park on earth.
There’s really not many floats for them to do this with. MSEP never belonged to WDW and was shipped back to Disneyland. Spectro was destroyed, and all of the other old parades were stripped/retrofitted for Festival of Fantasy/parts.
