For those visiting the park right now, what's the overall impression walking around with the nearly-finished mine hill exposed? Does it already give you a feeling of a "fantasy forest" or do we have to wait for the real trees to bloom?
I was talking about the themeing. You can clearly see that both rides are roller coasters built into a mountain but some of the turns and curves are very close to what we see on Thunder Mountain. The big difference is that Thunder Mountain is more opulent and "filled" and has a very large queue...
By the looks of it the ride is about 85% done. It's missing the grass, the detailing on the cottage and probably some more trees and props scattered around. But it looks very promising.
It's coming along nicely. I really like that angle with the train running by, the cottage wedged in-between and the (coming) foliage. I hope it becomes a favorable spot!
At this point, I'm over the rockwork and how it'll look altogether - rocks, trees and all. I'm more curious about the dwarves' cottage and how accurate it'll turn out. So far they've only set the "beams", but it's all taking shape real quick now.
The ride was really designed for children, hence the small seats. Parents and other adults will have to run along the side to catch any of the children falling out of the swinging cars.
From the concept imagery, the queue will be mostly inside with some interactive elements related to mining activities. They've also once mentioned the cottage being part of a walk-through (and not the imagined meet-and-greet) but I've not seen any blueprints for it yet. It'll probably be just...
I'm curious how they'll manage to rearrange the layout with all those lands side by side - the back of the park is very square with all those lots. I do however see some artistic connection between Cars Land's backdrop and Tatooine from Star Wars. That might work.
