    October 2025 Price Increases

Not sure. The number of rooms was fixed at 100 so lowering the price might not have helped enough.

    October 2025 Price Increases

I was told that they knew on Day 1 that it would never be profitable at the prices they'd set. I'm not sure how much of that is "Hollywood Accounting" and how much of it is just paying for the sheer number of on-stage and on-call equity performers. Remember this was in March 2022, so early...

    October 2025 Price Increases

I believe Disney when they say guests gave it the highest satisfaction scores in the history of WDW. I saw an internal memo that said more than 80% of guests rated it Excellent (or whatever the highest rating was). That number supposedly went up as it got closer to closing. In our own surveys...

    October 2025 Price Increases

The S&P is up 214% in the past 10 years. Disney's up ... 16%. That includes $28 billion in stock buybacks, basically lighting that money on fire. It's a legitimate question to ask whether giving $4K annual bonuses to all 233,000 cast members worldwide for a decade, at a total cost of $9.5B -...

    October 2025 Price Increases

I'm sure it's factoring into their pricing for domestic projects. Did they say something on the record about tariffs? I would be moderately surprised!

    October 2025 Price Increases

I think the vast majority of Americans don't realize how much having to "beat the market" or, you know, "beat the average index fund" plays into these price increases. If you have to outperform the average stock over the long term, I think you only have a few options: Gain significant share...

    Zootopia: Better Zoogether Preview Watch

There's an earlier preview on November 1 starting at 8 am. An NDA prevents me from saying what it is.

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

Orange County reported record tourist tax revenue for August, up 10% YOY: Occupancy up 2.5% to 63.9% Average daily rate (ADR) up 2.3% to $164/night Short-term rental demand up 18% IIRC that's the fourth consecutive month of record tax revenue.

Len Testa - “Disney positions itself as the all-American vacation. The irony is that most Americans can’t afford it.”

A NYMag article a while back noted that 2/3rds of New Yorkers under age 43 were rent-subsidized by their parents. I don't have the direct data, but I'm assuming that parents and grandparents are also covering any big trips as well. Or as my DD27 says, "any trip can be an all-inclusive if you...

News Spring 2026 Walt Disney World Discounts

AFAICT the general public deals for early 2026 are ~5% better than in 2025 for Value resorts, with Mods and Deluxes at the same level for them as in 2025. Same end date as well (4/30) across years.

News Guest dies, found unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers

It’s been 125 days since official opening. Let’s say the park is open for 11 hours per day. And let’s say the ride demand and capacity works out to 1,200 riders per hour. That’s 1,650,000 riders. I feel like that’s the low end - if you said 2 million I wouldn’t argue. The track length is...

Good catch. I think that happened around lunchtime. @Kingdom Konsultant Do you think it was always the plan to expand this from APs to everyone in 4 hours today?

My sis called today to cancel and rebook her upcoming cruise. It saved her $1,500 after losing the $800 deposit. Same itinerary and stateroom.

For what it's worth, this new 40% off deal for APs seems better than average: You can see the sailings by clicking "See offers" on the righthand side of the DCL site.
