We caught fish on rubber catipillars and worms.

Yeah, they want a barrier between you and the water. It's not ideal, but it works. There's quite a few spots where the fence is right on the waters edge.

Here's a pic of the gator we saw, we were on the other side of the fence fishing a couple days before.

When we were there in February, I asked the bike Barn CM where we could fish. She said at the dock across from the bike barn, and anywhere there was a fence between you and the water. The only place with a fence was next to the dog park. We pulled a few fish from there, but saw a gator there...
