Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I should also point out that according to Hawaii's stats, 97% or recent cases have been int he unvaccinated (not sure if that counts "partially vaccinated"). Also, hospitalizations have not gone up nearly as much as with previous surges. same story as is playing out in most of the US it seems...

There first shot vaccination is high, but total vaccination is only 53.4% (compared to 48.7% for Florida). Apparently a lot of people in Hawaii don't show up for the second shot, and with 2 being more necessary for Delta that probably has an effect. Also, from what I read early in the pandemic...

I ate at Toloache a few years ago in NYC. I'd highly recommend it.

Except that those are VOC cannisters and not HEPA filters. :)

Thanks for the explanation. When we visited DL 6-7 years ago that is exactly what we did (and splitting the fires + half a sandwich was still too much food!). $21 for the sandwich was already pretty crazy. I can see why people would be unhappy with $21 for half a sandwich and some fries.

What happened to the Monte Cristo? How would you screw up a deep-fried ham and turkey sandwich?

In good news: the UK cases seem to have peaked nearly a week ago and are plummeting downwards, about 2 months after the uptick began. Similarly, in the less-vaccinated India, cases started to drop a little under 2 months after their surge began (though their new baseline is 2-3x higher than...

Good to see that, at least for now, Canada has not started another Delta-related surge. I hope that continues.

News Magic Kingdom and Epcot Fireworks to Resume July 1st

I agree with everything you said, except that I actually really like the pop intro song as well. I remember seeing it the first time when it was fairly new and the crowd response to the build-up to Tink flying out of the castle was amazing.

That seems a bit pessimistic. India's cases have fallen to less than 10% of their peak and cumulatively they have had <32 million cases in a country of 1.4 billion people (2.2% of the population). Most people think the 32 million is vastly undercounted, but we're still talking single digit...

I'm certainly not a lawyer, but claiming a 1st amendment violation seems odd. The rest makes sense, though.

I read that Black Mesa *caused* the virus!

So, for the sake of the UK's pandemic surge, I should root for Denmark today so that all the English aren't in pubs during the finals? :D

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

I'm impressed. I'm a coaster enthusiast and even though Everest is not the most intense coaster out there, a few years ago I had to bow out after 5 times in a row. Stupid aging vestibular system...
