A mismash of IP on a Carousel just doesn't make sense for Tropical Americas, but I guess I need to stop telling myself that Disney cares what makes sense at this point
I’m in the camp of upset at losing dinoland, upset about the rampant IP being shoved in and also not having much faith due to recent projects tending to be underwhelming. I hope I’m wrong, and that the changes at least respect the vision for AK but, I am skeptical as there aren’t many ways to...
Personally, I thought the 2020/2021 version of WDW was ideal, other than the global pandemic part. No Genie, no Fastpass, no nothing. Everyone stands in the same line, it moves quickly. Of course, now that they have monetized it, there's no going back.
I do miss the old lineup; Anatasia, Drizella and Lady Tremaine are much more seldom seen, whereas I feel like Maribel and Tiana are thrown in our faces all the time.
I also cannot fully tell from the pics but it seems the carousel theming/horses are gone from the restaurant? That's kind of sad.
I hope the rumors of Radiator Springs are not true, as this is a huge project and probably the biggest MK will ever see anytime in the foreseeable future. I don’t want clones. Give us brand new things.
I agree Aladdin deserves more than a spinner and some more true water rides where you can...
We are for the most part done with the huge crowds until the Halloween parties begin. There will be spikes here and there of course and there is no truly slow time, and of course holiday weekends will be an exception but generally, it shouldn’t be crazy crazy busy anytime soon.
I think the Tropical Americas premise is fine but throwing in random Coco and Encanto rides, not so much.
I also still feel like dinosaurs deserve some part in the park. I’m hopeful that out of pure cost cutting, some of the existing dinos will remain in the conversion to Indy but who knows.
It is sad that they simply want to shove IP wherever and grasp at straws to try and make it fit/ make sense. Unfortunately they just don’t seem to care about the storytelling anymore or making things make sense. They will phone it in and make an attempt, but there’s really not much about encanto...
It also comes down to money. Disney wants to sell as many LLs as possible. DAS is free but takes up space in the LL. Obviously they have a financial incentive to make sure DAS is limited. So they can sell more LLs.
I really don’t see the return to line thing working in any type of scale especially on busy/ crowded queue which is basically any of them. It seems like Disney expects a very small percentage of guests to use that accommodation.
