Help With Solo Day Park Hopping

I agree that if you do get a solo day that you'll probably really enjoy it! I've gone solo three times now and although I missed my husband, I sure didn't miss his slower pace! ;-) He also is a photo bug and will stop to take photos every 2 minutes whereas I may take 2 shots each day. The...

Changes at WDW due to alligator attack (dedicated thread)

I think temporary removal of the things listed is respectful of the recent tragedy. They should be brought back in perhaps 3 months, enough time for the shock to pass. Life does go on, and the beachfront properties will be changed forever.

    Scammers in the parks

My husband is Brazilian and Peruvian, so the Brazilian kids can't play those games with us either, and he speaks some Japanese as well. I speak Russian and French, so we've got that covered, too. ;-)

Best place to watch Wishes & Illuminations without actually being in the parks

Yes, I've stayed in rooms at the Dolphin that had very good views of the Illuminations fireworks, either from balconies or from inside the room.

    Next Gen+ for dummies

This to me seems the only "fair" way to handle it. Not every resort guest is going to buy their park tickets 60 days out or plan their days that far in advance. I would never want to do that! To go into the system expecting you have 3 FPs to use/schedule only to learn you can't use any of them...

Tea at Grand Floridian-who are the characters???

I also hope they still have the more adult-oriented afternoon tea at the GF. I hope to do that as my afternoon break during my upcoming day at the MK. Can't get a reservation using the online system, so yes, will call WDW Dine.

    Next Gen+ for dummies

Maybe it's too early for anyone to know this but what I'm not quite understanding about FP+ (and I realize it's actually not in use yet, or is it on a limited basis for certain resorts?), is this: If under the new system you are allotted, for example, 3 FPs per day, then does that guarantee you...

    Electrical Water Pageant

Where is the best viewing from the Contemporary? Not staying there but want to go over one night for a drink and the parade.

    Transportation between resorts after hours

In a longer version of this question that I lost before posting, I had written that MK closes at 8pm that night, so the Monorail and the boats stop running one hour later, at 9 pm. I need options after 9:30.

    Transportation between resorts after hours

I need help with transportation planning please. I'm planning a visit to the MK on a night the park closes at 8pm. From there I plan to go to the Contemporary to watch the Electrical Water Pageant at 9pm and then go to my resort, the Swan. After the pageant ends around 9:15, will I be able to...

    Price increases.....

I can't answer Draybook's question but I have one of my own. When during the year do park ticket price increases usually happen? I'm going next month and probably won't buy my 5-day pass until I arrive (mostly so it will go on next month's credit card bill along with other trip expenses), but...

    Electrical Water Pageant

I remember it from family visits in the '80s, when we stayed at the Poly. Thanks to this thread I'm going to put it as a priority on my Things to Do list for next visit!

    February hotel sell out?

Yikes -- the cheerleaders! Although predicting low crowd levels for a few days leading up to the championship weekend, the TouringPlans.com crowd calendar estimates crowd levels at 5 on the Friday before, 7 and 6 for Feb 9th and 10th, and 6 on the Monday after. Glad I'm heading home that Saturday.

What is truly your favorite thing/experience in WDW?

Walking from Tomorrowland toward Cinderella's Castle at night and remembering the joy of being there with my favorite cousin when we were children in the early '70s. The "future" looked so wonderful back then! Riding the PeopleMover (can't get used to what it's called now) still gives me a...
