I don't know about the upper reaches (I think I remember a multi step process) but I watched them do a wall at Sir Mickey's and it took about 10 days with layer upon layer of glaze until it looked like stone. I think the shingles take two coats to get the final look.

OK Bob/Josh, I will try to live a bit longer to make the drive and buy the pass to see this, it might be the best thing Disney has ever done
