Every attraction at EPCOT is considered a pavilion or at least used to be.

That does seem to basically be the only thing interesting happening around WDW right now which is indeed a sad state of affairs but everything else looks pretty bad so this is what we have been reduced to.

Never mind that todays WDI seems to be under the impression that emulating Disneyland is always the way to go.

Nothing is ever subtle with this company, especially with Iger running it.

I honestly think if they were legitimately interested in why the EPCOT of the 80s was (or was not) succesful, they would be more concerned in restoring what made it great instead of half-baked "tributes". I will be fair the new Test Track would not have felt out of place in the EPCOT of the 80s...

It really is semantics at this point.

Relatively lo-fi simplistic tech does tend to be more impressive than the latest cutting edge technology.

That is an apt description of almost the entirety of EPCOT to me. Though, of course, EPCOT for me died 6 years ago. I was unable to make it to the 1982-1994 incarnation of EPCOT but I would argue that the 1994-2019 era was objectively preferable to right now just on the strength of Reflections...

Tony Baxter will likely never touch anything at WDI again and as usual for people they have disdain for, they will probably be building an animatronic of him soon.
