To be honest there is another land in another park that was built around the same time that really should have been bulldozed but instead got Pixar characters slapped onto it and is sadly still operating. I will let you folks guess what it is.

I would prefer no Davy Jones. Thankful he is gone in DL and WDW. Barbossa and Jack in the caves also messes up the story but yes Paris is relatively got the least impact from the movie franchise.

It was probably one of the earliest indications that Iger's style of running the parks was going to be more about brand recognition than about immersing guests in a different world.

The Auction Scene changes I can understand. It's the constant name dropping of "Captain Jack Sparrow" that bothers me.

I know and I personally think it has morally confused the message of the attractions. The original Imagineers intended guests not to sympathize with the Pirates and think of them as bad guys, That is why their blatantly anti-social activities The Auction, Chase, Arson were not exactly presented...

It also hurts that they shoved Jack Sparrow in the treasure cave completely undercutting the original intended "Message" of the ride.

I still don't buy that the concept of a black-widow Bride is any less socially acceptable now than it was twenty years ago especially with the Ghost Host still hanging around.

They also had something similar called Western River Expedition which they thought would be more appealing to the WDW audience which famously never happened. Honestly part of me is glad it never happened because it would have needed A LOT more work to bring it in line with modern sensibilities.

I would prefer we not add any more elements from the two decade old movie franchise. Frankly, The constant "Where is Captain Jack Sparrow" dialog was annoying in 2006 and considering how the movies have largely faded from the public consciousness they are even more annoying now.

They also decided to put guests into the Caribbean as soon as they entered Caribbean Plaza instead of the time travel concept used in the DL Version. Something subsequent generations of Imagineers seem to have forgotten about.
