Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

Yes, I always thought the original WDW ride was great as a kid without any knowledge of how it was different from the DL POTC. It was such a joy to peer down through those bars and see the skeletons at the chess board while that eerie guitar music strummed in the background. I don't think the...

No thanks. I'd still take bastardized cliff-notes POTC over Jack Sparrow's Underwater Screen Adventure With No Pirates In It.

The films have already had a representation of the Redhead with the character "Scarlett," and I think it's safe to assume they won't be bumping her up to leading lady status.

Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

To add insult to injury, it wasn't even all changes based on the movies. Some WDI "genius" decided that the queue would be better without the spooky Spanish guitar music echoing throughout, that the beach scene would be better with brighter lighting and a "magical"-sounding rendition of Yo Ho...

Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

I thought the originals (which I'm pretty sure were all Paul Frees) sounded more natural. The new ones to me sound too try-hard, or maybe not trying hard enough.

His line "or do you fancy a swim with Davy Jones?" doesn't even make sense in regards to the films' mythology. If the mayor were to drown in the well, Davy Jones wouldn't be coming to collect him. Of course the Jones/Blackbeard projection and mermaids in the cave don't make sense either.

Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

The most pointless voice replacements during the movie updates IMO were the Spanish soldiers at the fort and the hook-handed pirate at the well. All they do differently is name-drop Barbossa, Sparrow, and Davy Jones, only with worse voice actors and dialogue. Hook-hand doesn't even say "or do a...

Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

Yes, that's what they're doing, but making it an inferior scene with sure-to-be inferior dialogue and vocal performances. Every original 1967 voice that's been removed has been replaced with an audio track by a voice actor who's not nearly as good as the original.

Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

Speaking of incompetent Imagineers who do no research, who wants to bet the people in charge of "updating" the auction scene don't even know that the character of Scarlett in the films was based on the Redhead and that the filmmakers made a short film inspired by the scene? Pirates of the...

Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

Absolutely. They wouldn't have even used the line "strike yer colors, ya bloomin' cockroaches!" in the first movie if not for Paul Frees' memorable vocal performance as the original captain, which Rush's pales in comparison to. There are several homages in the films to things that don't even...

Pirates of the Caribbean Auctioneer/Redhead Changes NO POLITICS or SOCIAL ISSUES, PLEASE!

The ride and films clearly don't take place in the same world. All the more reason to get rid of the ill-fitting movie updates. At the risk of sounding a little "spergy," when the first film came out, one could have argued that it possibly takes place in the same world as the ride because the...
