I'm pretty sure that you can only schedule the tour the day of. You want to go to the desk by Soarn'. I'd go early in the day to reserve a spot. They are filling up fast right now since the ride is down.
We did it a couple years ago and it was only my family. Last week it was 20+ people...
We were there a week ago and did the Behind the Seeds tour. I saw no work being done on the canal except for cleaning. In fact it still was full of water.
We did see all the boats high and dry behind one of the green houses.
I suspect they are staying with the current boats and just...
We were there three years ago during that week. It was pretty cool. In fact we had our winter coats with us which were great at night. Also warmed up during the day, but not past the 70's. We didn't do anything with the pools that week.
Above said, this is my favorite time to go. The place...
I got the hours figured out. They are open until 9p most nights, and 10p others. Also they have schedules for Spectro up (3 nights per week), just not showing Wishes at all. Perhaps they (WDW) are just waiting to see how busy it will be before scheduling them.

So many reasons...
My first trip was as a ten year old back in 78' I think. I remember staying at the Polynesian and will never forget the wonder of the Monorail. Then and now it is such an immersive experience. I probably remember as many details about the resort as I do about the Magic...
I'd go with TL if you can only choose one.
Usually not as busy as BB
The kids area at TL I think is nicer. Has a short little tube ride that I could not pull my kids off of when they were that age. They just kept going around and around and around.
Nice sandy area in the kids area to play at...
I don't know that Disney Seas would bring a lot of new things to WDW.
I was there in 2006 for a day. While it was neat, the rides were not totally new.
Examples:
Indy at Seas was the same as DL, or a different version of Dinasaur that is at AK (Indy would be better :)).
Journey to the...
