All the elements are there, the show just has no flow or story to it. It could be a solid magic kingdom style show if it had some “glue” to hold all the segments together. Also can we discuss how visually underwhelming the taco shaped LED screens are. It’s like they designed a solution looking...
I have no issues with the mural, it’s really just the context. This doesn’t belong in Epcot. I want something fun and stylistic that fits the contemporary style and storytelling themes they are going for with the remodel. This was a huge missed opportunity for the design team.
Please, correct me if I’m wrong (I’m not familiar with this area) but are these the apartments they were going to use for CP housing: https://www.westerlyapts.com/
If so, it appears they are beginning to lease them out to normal folks. Maybe this is just another complex being built in the area?
I believe (and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) it’s Handel Gothic, or at least a modified form of it. Here’s a little history about the typeface: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handel_Gothic
Also (for anyone interested) if you have an Adobe Creative Cloud account, it’s free for you to use...
I was thinking the same thing! It‘s almost as if the constraints of the site (all of the utilities and infrastructure that are/were located in and behind the pavilion) allowed for a more interesting and authentic layout with the promenade along the water and narrow street up to the entrance of...
Your worry is completely valid. I usually have no problems with heights and the gondolas did make me feel unsettled for a few seconds when I rode them for the first time. I will say that it does get better once you become accustomed to the height and the slight swaying motion. I would give it a...
As a landscape nerd, this is one of my favorite outdoor lighting collections and I’m so happy to see them being used in Epcot. Elements like these are an easy way to breath new life into the space.
In case you want some of your own...
Oh I know, thats what makes the parks so exciting 😀 So many different types of experiences! Its all about context and the story being told!
I was not critiquing the Rise of the Resistance entrance! I'm actually a huge fan! Its should be very effective at drawing people in and hinting at the...
Sorry, didn't mean to be negative in any way. Needless to say I became very familiar with Epcot's landscape not too many years ago and I am very passionate about it 😂. I remember these Crepe Myrtles in particular were hard to maintain due to the trunks and roots growing into the steel "cages"...
Not gonna lie, if I could be in that line, I would be o_O
Is that Indiana Jones? The subtle signage fits the atmosphere of the area and attraction well. Love that attraction and the experience leading up to it!
I see what you mean, and sorry for the crazy descriptions. Maybe otherworldly is more descriptive😂
Its really interesting to see how all these visual systems are integrated together. It’s all really fascinating to me and I always enjoy seeing how it plays out once guests are let loose in the...
Yeah, they have tried many different application and all have had their shortcomings. However, if that picture is what the show lighting will look like in the attraction, the different casts of light and shadows on the floor could be an easy way for them to disguise the markings in areas where...
