News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

This was talked about quite a bit in the annual refurbishment thread. But it was chalked up to Disney being cheap/lesser quality work as seen all over property these days. I thinks that’s significantly more likely than them deciding to refresh half the mountain and leave the other half untouched...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Based on how they did a terrible job refreshing the outside based on photos on blogmickey and reports from the other site about the interior, I 100% think this is what’s happening. Letting it rot until they retheme it.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

They haven’t sold Splash merchandise (with very limited exceptions) since they sold out of their initial inventory after re-opening. I’d be shocked if they had any new splash merchandise ever again.

That’s not what independent means. It means they don’t work for the Walt Disney Company. They already work somewhere else. Bob Chapek is not independent of the Walt Disney Company. Mary Barra is independent of the Walt Disney Company. No matter what Bob and other C suite Disney employees are...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Certainly a fair comment. But those aren’t the rules right now, so Disney has to pay market rates for executive compensation. Regardless of the pay of Chapek, even if you paid Chapek and the executives $0 for the last 2 years, the parks division lost $12 billion in profits and cash flow...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Their job is not to work for the Walt Disney Company. They are independent directors. Why are you trying to compare apples and oranges? Ill try to put this in layman’s terms. If you are looking for a job and Walmart says we are only willing to pay $10 an hour and Target is willing to pay $25...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I knew this post was coming. How far back do you want me to go? Year to date: DIS down 15%, S&P 500 down 10%, DOW down 8%. Disney is by far the worst performer. Going back one year: DIS down 22%, S&P up 12%, DOW down 3%. Disney is by far the worst performer Going back two years: DIS down 4%...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I’m not sure I 100% follow your first paragraph but I am interpreting it to mean that you think the compensation committee is making a ton of money and will receive massive pay raises if they bump Chapek’s pay. This is not true. Compensation Committees are required by the SEC to be composed of...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

First of all, the Compensation Committee proposes the executives’ compensation packages and it is approved by shareholder vote. Chapek did not give himself a 100% raise. Second, the majority of that compensation is not in cash but in stock awards. Third, yes shareholders would be unhappy. If...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

At the end of the day the executives are responsible to their shareholders. Their shareholders are mostly made up of working Americans’ 401k plans and public sector union pension funds. The stock is down 25% in the last year and 36% from its all time high during that period. Whether you want to...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

They still have those there? They’ve been sold out for good in Florida for ages. Dang.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

What artwork is Disneyland selling? I looked at Disney Springs in Florida and there is none there. The gift shops in Florida around the ride are empty of Splash merchandise as well. Splash Mountain merchandise was sold out but it’s not being replaced. They haven’t had merchandise there in 17...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I just replied to you on this. No they aren’t. Brer Bear snuck onto one design. That’s it. All Splash Mountain merchandise has been removed and is no longer being sold. One oversight design is an exception not a rule.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

So since we didn’t hear anything about this during D23 I assume the ride isn’t going down in 2022. It’s been a while since it’s last refurb and it shows. We thinking they are just gonna run this into the ground until closing or will we ever see another winter refurb?

News Walt Disney World to resume sales of Annual Passes (New sales resume April 20, 2023)

I activated my AP almost 3 months ago and never got any magnets. I had no idea that was a common problem.
